...then there's this NickDrake. & it makes sense considering Cale's own material.
& he was in some band name I don't recall...

Cale live solo piano may have been the best performance I’ve ever seen.

re: organ trios. Right now, surprising organ trio talent out there.

McTuff, from Seattle. Often + Skerik.
Wil Blades, out of SF, now moved to LA.
Trio Subtonic, out of Portland. ESPECIALLY AMAZING when they + Dan Balmer.
Delvon Lamarr Trio, also out of Seattle

And, although not organ but carries the spirit, Charlie Hunter with any drummer and sax. Out of Oakland, of course.

If I still had a record player and vinyl I’d pull out Sultans of Swain and play it a few rpm less than 33. Perfect for a rainy day.

I don’t like it when you go away Bill. I was bereft those 100 years when you went away before. Black veil. No dances. The works. Will try to keep up via archives after you move slots and locations.

More modern organ jazz: Heavy G & The Boogaloo Communicators led by guitarist Javier Gonzalez and featuring B-3 man Jarad Astin who studied with Trudy Pitts. Full disclosure: They're my friends and I produced their first album but they're really good. I swear.

Thanks for turning me on to the Shirley Scoot album - I’m loving it! I’m glad I read your comment list and saw your link for the Give the Drummer program schedule. I thought I was losing both you and Jeffrey and I was genuinely down about it. Really looking forward to your having a longer time slot!
