@fred: Not really. The Mexican Consulate was closed due to Omicron. I cannot move without certain papers certified. So, that's the main holdup. Probably not escaping NYC until early February. @fred and Jeff, you may be right. There were a number of elderly people and a few unfortunate younger ones whose death was precipitated by Covid, but the total number was probably low. Also, low frequency events have a propensity to clump, just by the laws of chance. We need a careful statistical analysis.
