Have to water my veggies, will take the show on headphones (you're welcome, Stork). Anyone know how to self pollinate tomatoes and cucumbers when they're in a "greenhouse" to keep the deer from eating them? (got 1 tomato, about an inch in diameter, which was amazingly delicious, but didn't go too far satisfying the hunger). I understand the netting is also keeping out bees, that do the pollinating, and an artificial pollination is called for. But I'm so shy...

True, doc. Wynton said a lotta things I bet he feels a bit embarassed about today. He's such a fine player and has actually done a lot of good, challenging music, amidst all his bombast and yawn-y conventionalism.

I actually don't have any hard feelings about Wynton (I know Poobah Doug does), like his albums from the 90's, have seen the Lincoln Jazz Orchestra, as recently as last summer at Tanglewood (but Wynton wasn't in the band for that show, Branford did play with them, though)

Rev Rabbit, I’ve only listened to Lou Reed stuff on the periphery. Never got deep into his music. For some reason, I always assumed he was probably a pretentious asshole. I feel like a bad person now

I loved that segue <3

RevRabb - though I remain glad that I was never trapped in an elevator with Lou Reed, I think he was one of the more compelling artists I've ever witnessed - inconsistent, contradictory, maddening, and sometimes even disappointing, but when he was good - wow.

Abbazabba, it's not a reach to say that Lou Reed was probably an asshole, but I really don't know. But regardless, he made some terrific music. Was he a good singer - who cares. Lot's of good singers make crappy records. Lou did something altogether different.
