Hello David. You have lots to choose from and there is much to explore. For example, I've read of Eno collaborating with Rachid Taha but haven't got my hands on any recording yet.

And it's always a ranjit day! And yes, WR, way more than I could wrangle!

if you did an 11-hour somewhat chronological overview of Brian Eno's history in music i'd make plans around it

Hi everybody! I have to admit I haven't listened to very much of Eno's later work so I'm prepared to be surprised

this Hassell & Eno was one of my favorite albums quite a few years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm

this track a live performance i think, the only one on the album.
Hassell wouldn't want to hear it but i still think it's his best album

Hi coel. I was trying to remember the cover art of this but I've forgotten.

Now this is groovy...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm
coelacanth∅:

(i think this isn't the live track after all. maybe "griot"?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm
coelacanth∅:

i'm a big fan of Robert Fripp's (pre-discipline) music,
but i still have never come across any evidence that frippertronics is Fripp's creation...yet, Eno had been exploring the technique already before (no pussyfooting).
i lean toward a story that Eno gave away the credit for something that was mostly if not entirely his development.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm
david w:

ngh, is that the Rachid Taha track? Or?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm
coelacanth∅:

hi chresti!

david -so, like the beatles!
...my opinion is mostly based on the recordings available from before the term was coined, and the general tendency toward humility that Brian Eno has exhibited many times, and that with Fripp seems to end at his outward demeanor. going back at least to his stealing someone's band, rather than starting his own. (a la Zappa; a la Ian Anderson...)
