Ah... this is one of those. OK I don't like to quote wiki, but this is choice: <As Gene Lees puts it: "Creed Taylor was treating [bossa nova] with respect and dignity. Were it not for Creed Taylor, I am convinced, bossa nova and Brazilian music generally would have retreated into itself, gone back to Brazil . . . and become a quaint parochial phenomenon interesting to tourists, instead of the worldwide music and the tremendous influence on jazz itself that it in fact became.">

The idea, says the director, stems right back to the days of his first sequel, 1981’s Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. “Way back, when the score for Mad Max 2 was being recorded, the orchestra would play to a high contrast black-and-white slash dupe,” he explains. “This was sacrificial print and a lot cheaper than a coloured version. I was struck by how much more ‘iconic’ the images felt – more elemental, abstract and ‘authentic’. Ever since I wanted to see a Mad Max movie in black and white.”

Sepia is from the greek and latin word for cuttlefish. The redish brown ink is derived from the cuttlefish. sepia toning is a chemical process that converts the metallic silver in the emulsion of a photographic print into a silver sulfide compound. This makes the photo more resistant to environmental pollutants.

Pax:

Just got back from the local krausers, as it was a hot walk home i decided to get a slushee there, plus I haven't had one in about 2 or 3 years. I haven't been to krausers since winter. So much to my surprise as I entered the establishment I seen ye old slushee machine has been replaced by something called alligatorice! I can remember seeing the familiar slushee machine in about every major convenience store franchise since the '70s. I'm not surprised that something else that is old and familiar is fading away, since that's just the way of commercial businesses. But I'm willing to bet long after civilization has perished McDonald's will still be there. But that was just a small minor change. As i was walking to the counter with my alligatorice i seen a display case full of bongs. So it took a minute or two to look em over and as i started to turned to purchase my item I seen yet another display case full of pipes! The sight stirred the teenager in me just looking at em. I thought to myself now this is truly a convenience store, you can get paraphernalia for your something something and grab some sweet or salty snacks for after something something later, all at once. That just goes to show that all changes are not bad
Avatar 5:09pm
Miss G:

Pax, I might be feverish from the hot weather here, but you have officially blown my mind. What might an alligatroice be? I don't want to look it up! I'm imagining the ultimate squishee that sets Bart and Milhouse to dancing. . .
