WCBS-FM, the NY oldies station that started in the 70s, used to feature a radio greats weekend each year reuniting well-known disc jockeys from the golden age. They used to play some Jazzbo airchecks. I can't recall if he joined them on any of those specials. He might have.

I was hoping when I started this here Sheena's that we would have DJs like Jazzbo, who had this whole schtick that he was broadcasting from a spot he called the Purple Grotto, way down underground. He would describe the grotto and sure enough we do have DJs with kooky personas, hosting their shows from unreal spaces like The Flange and Frigate, and The Midvalley of mutations. Jazzbo's spirit lives on, whether Sheena DJs realize or not.
