It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

@ruth they have a nice sweet/bitter quality and taste just like the crushed marigold leaves smell. I put it in rice all the time. Poor man’s saffron.

david w, it's a bit of a cooking sprint at the moment. Pausing between today's prep and tomorrow's baking/roasting for pizza. Going pretty trad this year: roast turkey, sourdough stuffing, yukon gold mashed, roasted brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, bread, apple pie. I'll do the brux the way a place near me used to, with fish sauce and maple syrup splashed on as they finish roasting.

This year I am doing Thanksgiving solo...first one without Mom and all of my cousins are at their in-laws. BUT doing a Friendsgiving upstate on Saturday; will bring copious amounts of my heritage breed turkey. For myself it's just that; picking up some fresh greens and maybe some starchy edible tubers of some sort. Just took a liquor store delivery also, and grabbed a small pumpkin pie. Will try to get crusty bread tonight before the bakeries close unless they are swamped in which case I will brave the supermarket maybe really late tonight...

Threemoons, this year it's just me, my wife, the animals, and maybe briefly a neighbor. I'm torn between feeling that it's the lamest loneliest Thanksgiving, and feeling grateful that I have everything I need, don't have to drive anywhere, and maybe don't even have to wear pants.

@Threemoons, I made it once bef doctorore, it was delicious! I doctored it a bit, halved the butter (lots in the recipe), replaced it with tahini, put parboiled potatoe and brussel sprouts under the chicken to cook with the chicken.
After dinner will brine a turkey for grilling and make NY Times Pommes Boulangère
