When we got our first "grown-up" apartment, my roommate's mom dropped off a load of groceries for him when he moved in. When I got there he was eating bouillon cubes. He's still sort of miffed at me for plugging the fridge and making the electricity bill go up.

3 tbs peanut oil, 1/3 cup corn. put four kernels in oil, cover 3 quart saucepan, wait for them to pop. remove from heat for 30 sec. add rest of kernals put back on heat
