Talk about a hot seat.

As it happens, the reason that the post-Nagasaki nuclear arsenal is under the exclusive control of the President is that Truman realized that the generals, who had made the decision to drop the bomb, could not be trusted with it. This was a step in the right direction, but did not go far enough; for the truth is that no one can be trusted with nuclear arms.

A bartender showed pictures of a Hollywood actor to a few people present to show a resemblance to me, and then was going with "Really, this (me) is him! Look!"
On their way out of the bar shortly later, a couple stopped and asked for an autograph. When I joked, "Get out your checkbook," cuz I thought THEY were joking, the man said, "Oh, you're one of 'those.'" I never could figure out what they actually believed.
A drunk member of a wedding party at a different bar wouldn't take it as fact that I wasn't that same actor.

True story: For more than 30 years, my wife has been using as a sleep aid a recording of me reading the screenplay to "My Dinner With Andre." I do both parts, Wally Shawn's and André Gregory's. I originally recorded it onto cassettes. Then I burned it onto a CD. Later, I ripped it as an MP3. Jessie has always found something about the discourse and repartee of the conversation in My Dinner With Andre to be soothing and reassuring. She listens to me reading the screenplay on her iPhone under her pillow. She has probably heard me read it (or some portion of it before she falls asleep), a thousand times or more.
