	12:32pm Meesalikeu: i found this on modern rocketry: Years Active 1983 – 1988 (5 years) Modern Rocketry were a hi-nrg disco band featuring Ken Kessie, active from 1983 to 1988. They're not very well known - in fact they're downright obscure - but what little fame they enjoyed was probably due to their 1985 release, best described as the gayest disco song ever. Homosexuality, with its b-side of 'Thank God For Men', followed in the well-trodden footsteps of Patrick Cowley's Menergy and Boystown Gang's 'Cruising In The Streets' with massive gay audience appeal. A hit in gay clubland, it's not uncommon to hear it nowadays, along with some other gay classics. Crucified, anybody? Other notable songs include '(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone' and 'Deeper N Deeper', none of which, it has to be said, has quite the show stopping charm of a song whose main chorus is 'Homosexuality… Yes sir! Do you wanna get next to me?'. Oh, and the Pet Shop Boys did a live cover of it at a pride event in 1992, too. More recently, (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone appeared on the 2008 compilation 'I Love Disco Hi-Nrg Passion Vol.1'.

Indie band fired from stadium gig after ridiculing Jeff Bezos Ariana Baio Jan 31, 2023 A Seattle-based indie band was asked not to return to the Climate Pledge Arena after ridiculing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in a song. The band, Who Is She?, was scheduled to be the house band for the Seattle Kraken on three separate nights last week at the Climate Pledge Arena. But the band was only able to play one night after modifying lyrics in one song to ridicule Bezos by calling him, “a total jerk” who is responsible for shutting down local bookstores, according to Seattle Times.

K8 and I are convinced of conspiracy, that the MTA is trying to gin up numbers to claim people prefer the OMNY spy system over Metrocards. After not having had a card fail in like fifteen years, I have gone through three in as many weeks. And of course now the token booth workers can't just xfer it to a new card -- all they can do is give you an envelope to send it in to HQ. I gotta tell Mark Hurst. He'll believe me!

UV-TV formed in Gainesville, Florida, in the mid-2010s, but by the turn of the decade they’d relocated to New York City. Their first release after moving to NYC, 2021’s Always Something, was one of EFD’s favorites of that year; they’ll play some songs from that album as well as some new songs from an upcoming release. Tune in for some post-punk jangle-drone!
Wed. May 22nd, Noon - 3pm: The Prof. Fuzz 63 (More info...)
The Prof. Fuzz 63 are a three-piece family band from just north of Dallas. They’re also literally a garage band. Their garage/practice space is adorned with photos of The Cramps, among others, and singer uses an old telephone handset for a mic. What else do you need to know? OK, they’re also playing May 22 at Berlin in NYC and May 23 at Finnegan’s in Hoboken.

	12:32pm Meesalikeu: i found this on modern rocketry: Years Active 1983 – 1988 (5 years) Modern Rocketry were a hi-nrg disco band featuring Ken Kessie, active from 1983 to 1988. They're not very well known - in fact they're downright obscure - but what little fame they enjoyed was probably due to their 1985 release, best described as the gayest disco song ever. Homosexuality, with its b-side of 'Thank God For Men', followed in the well-trodden footsteps of Patrick Cowley's Menergy and Boystown Gang's 'Cruising In The Streets' with massive gay audience appeal. A hit in gay clubland, it's not uncommon to hear it nowadays, along with some other gay classics. Crucified, anybody? Other notable songs include '(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone' and 'Deeper N Deeper', none of which, it has to be said, has quite the show stopping charm of a song whose main chorus is 'Homosexuality… Yes sir! Do you wanna get next to me?'. Oh, and the Pet Shop Boys did a live cover of it at a pride event in 1992, too. More recently, (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone appeared on the 2008 compilation 'I Love Disco Hi-Nrg Passion Vol.1'.

The band, Who Is She?, was scheduled to be the house band for the Seattle Kraken on three separate nights last week at the Climate Pledge Arena. But the band was only able to play one night after modifying lyrics in one song to ridicule Bezos by calling him, “a total jerk” who is responsible for shutting down local bookstores, according to Seattle Times.
