sarasota looked ok, for the most part. lots of snowbird traffic. i was giving a talk at a library there, and then we hung out for a couple of days. fun and relaxing.

reminds of the year I returned from japan to jax, FL when I was in jr high in 89. the movers laughed at us for having a snowshovel. that xmas, we got a 1/2" of snow and I got to use the snow shovel (the only recorded measurable snow on record, there).

I was in the driveway sitting in my truck this morning just to be warm. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw how low the snow level was in the mountains. I drove up to Sierra Madre to get a better look. Yup - lots of snow.
