A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

In an earlier incarnation of the show, I had to do a legit weather report once an hour, so The Weather Computer did that. Just another late-to-the-party comment, but Spotify supports weapons manufacturers and lets major labels get stock options so that they can screw over their artists more easily... Spotify and Amazon were instrumental in appealing the verdict when musicians fought to get the pay to be 60/40 instead of .00000001 % of profit.

↳ Song: "The Future of The Past" by "Mini-Mutations"
For those who are curious: this is an entirely "collage" assembly. The music track is assembled from about 25 different audio samples that I mangled and added FX to, which I then played back and triggered live for a recording. Then I cut up the documentary into samples that could play on their own, and did a live track of just triggering the samples, live, to get them spaced out. Then I did some fine tuning, added in some embellishments, etc. But it's all samples, and FX.
