i have spider crickets in my basement, dirt floor and field stone walls. they cover a wall and if you forget what they are it's pretty unsettling. ocassionally one will make it up the basement stairs and i'll find the cat whacking at it.

Very amused by the comments disputing the veracity of what's asserted in the song regarding canine hearing organs, but I think what's missed is what is implied by omission: cats' ears are miraculous! Pointy, cute, able to reposition to for optimum effectiveness...state of the art ears.
