I mean, two nights ago at 1 AM I hadn't made dinner yet and had a steak defrosted (small cut for one). I....I threw some salt on it and ate it raw with a tumbler of Jim Beane on the rocks. And that was dinner. This is my life for the foreseeable future. I feel blessed to have steak and whiskey but I really, really need some downtime and I need to get to bed before 3 AM at some point.

Thanks WR-the Rawanda departure was about a half hour late (but the transfer in London had a longer wait, so we wound up OK in the end). On the way in, to Kenya, we had a 2 hour delay in Newark, just barely made the connecting flight, but our luggage didn't, and we didn't get it until 3 and a half days later. The joys of flying!

Yowza! This is why I hate flying. After my Mom passed, my brother and family checked no fewer than 10 large luggage items as it was still cheaper than shipping it to Australia. Flying from JFK to LAX, only 5 made it there, and my bro wisely just switched up his flights and got a large room at the airport hotel while he fought with whatever airline it was. At first they said he only checked 8. Then they admitted it was 10. 5 days later it all showed up and they flew back to Australia. Now, my bro is one of those "million mile fliers" for his job, and has every VIP perk on the planet, and they still treated him like poop and seemed to give zero fucks that not only was he traveling with a 3 month old and a 3 year old, but he was here FOR HIS MOTHER'S FUNERAL. US airports suck.

on the happier end, in 2007, I once went to dj a few gigs in FL w/ cds + laptop only. They lost my cd bag (I had few hundred). three days later (before any gigs), they actually drove my bag to my parents house 50 mins away. I nearly lost all traces of sanity in those three days....(never lost a flightcase of vinyl [knock on particle board]).
