	9:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63: ~Good ⦿Sunday FMUvianz~ Lost my father in 2005 - & been thinking about it again recently as a matter of fact. We were pretty distant - well, he was pretty absent, if dutiful labor-wise & such - with much generation gap & all that - but a lot of who & what I am reflects him anyhow. Things got worse for him really in his last years - but ironically maybe better & more grown up between us - & I was fortunate to be there for some of his last moments. Which was an experience like no other I've had. My mother otoh is still with us - & has entered her 90s. There's a certain kind of conversation with her I want to have while we still can - about my more grown up perspective on the conflicts we had when I was young & full of needs not addressed & energy undirected. Many regrets - but also gratitude for their hard work & being raised by people with some good values ...a lot more than a lot of children get in this World.

My high school marching band had been selected as the representative marching from Maryland to come perform at the 50th birthday celebration for Mickey Mouse. It happened to be the Memorial Day Weekend, 1979. It was sweltering in the Orlando sun, and we were all wearing our black, wool marching band uniforms. I was toting the bass drum. They handed out salt tablets so we wouldn't pass out.

	9:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63: ~Good ⦿Sunday FMUvianz~ Lost my father in 2005 - & been thinking about it again recently as a matter of fact. We were pretty distant - well, he was pretty absent, if dutiful labor-wise & such - with much generation gap & all that - but a lot of who & what I am reflects him anyhow. Things got worse for him really in his last years - but ironically maybe better & more grown up between us - & I was fortunate to be there for some of his last moments. Which was an experience like no other I've had. My mother otoh is still with us - & has entered her 90s. There's a certain kind of conversation with her I want to have while we still can - about my more grown up perspective on the conflicts we had when I was young & full of needs not addressed & energy undirected. Many regrets - but also gratitude for their hard work & being raised by people with some good values ...a lot more than a lot of children get in this World.

My high school marching band had been selected as the representative marching from Maryland to come perform at the 50th birthday celebration for Mickey Mouse. It happened to be the Memorial Day Weekend, 1979. It was sweltering in the Orlando sun, and we were all wearing our black, wool marching band uniforms. I was toting the bass drum. They handed out salt tablets so we wouldn't pass out.
