my mom is 93 and still living at home. We got her an iPhone for the Facetime feature. Sometimes you need that visual confirmation that someone is still taking care of themselves when you can't get there for a personal visit. My sister lives 600 miles away so she sees my mom maybe 5 days out of the year.
