I was in the temporary "Elephants" exhibit at the Amer. Museum of Natural History today, and a mouse was running around on the floor! A real live mouse! Lots of people saw it. Fortunately, it didn't cause any elephants to freak out and stampede. Unlike the mouse, the elephants in there are not live, which probably explains that, LOL.

the chinese zodiac is based on the lunar new year. japan moved their start to the western new year (post-1945). in the chinese zodiac, the dragon is the most auspicious of the critters, but can be testy at times (i.e., the dragon is the bringer of rain, but sometimes brings too much).
