Yeah, Denton's always been a hard left turn from the rest of the state. Around 2000 or so, my weed dealer dyed his dreadlocks red, white & blue (they were usually rainbow!) and ran for mayor on the Green Party ticket. He didn't win, but he got about 28% of the vote — which is a lot of people willing to vote for a gender-noncomforming pot dealer, given that it's a Texas city.

The albums on which Miller plays or conducts classical music aren't billed as Miller records. Here's DJ Jim Svejda, one of Miller's friends: "Svejda, taking his turns in the pitchman’s seat, seemed at times barely able to contain himself on the air, rhapsodizing extemporaneously about the soul-nourishing grandeur of Beethoven, the genius of Jascha Heifetz, the transcendental oboe virtuosity of Mitch Miller."

The car was waiting for the signal to turn green. Stan looked in the car and Dennis was slumped in the passenger seat. "Hey you're Dennis - I love you music!"
