Had a fantastic evening last night with Peter Case, right here in my little town. A very intimate gig at a little brew tasting room. Sat and talked to him for a good while. I dig that guy so much. A friend of mine mentioned a Lansing gig years ago where some guy turned up with a guitar case that had the Plimsouls stenciled on it. Inside was Peter's stolen Rickenbacker that was used on Million Miles and in the Valley Girls movie. It somehow made it's way to Michigan. He got it back and said it's safely under his bed at home.

Second watch of Little Miss Sunshine b/c the Brattle Cinema is playing it. I wanted to see if it really was the by-the-numbers contrivedly charming indie flick I remembered. It was.
Also David Fincher's Zodiac, which was super. He is such a stickler for period detail and I'm for it (this is coming from a guy who saw the Apple system font Chicago on an episode of Mad Men and immediately wrote off the whole series.)
