"No, we're watching the solar eclipse."
He didn't shade his eyes and look up; he didn't react to that statement at all. I don't think he even noticed that it was dark.
"OK, Judy! You take care!"

Actually, Mod Lang operated in both cities for a time. It was originally in downtown Berkeley, a partnership of a married couple. They split up. He moved back to England, and she moved the store to El Cerrito. I confess that I haven't seen pre-pandemic, when both shops operated as Mod Lang.

Tree is off the wood shed, roof has a patch, and Erin the Kitteh is back to running from window to window chasing the chippies.

I think (as I'm prone to) again of Barbara Ehrenreich's book 'Dancing In The Streets' in which she gives exposition to the history of how Xianity & Islam got hijakced by Monarchies & Militants - & pulled away from Ecstatic practice & towards the Moralists. Islam for example ranging from the Dervishes to sects that condemn Musics altogether... I don't know the biography of Hildegard de Bingen but wonder if there are parallels...
