I coulda helped in moving, I wasn't doing much. Oh, and good morning.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:09pm From: Liz B.

Ha ha, thanks Joe! Moving is never easy... especially when you have to clean up broken glass someone left in your new apt!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:09pm From: GP

A nice opening move Liz..and a good afternoon to you.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:12pm From: Joe Steele

Exactly, I was thinking about moving this summer, then I realized how much stuff I've accumulated since my last move and just renewed my lease.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:14pm From: nyc

This Zola J track kills!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:16pm From: Spencer

Aw, I love this song. It makes me so happy. Isn't this song by The Woods though??

Mon. 8/3/09 12:18pm From: GP

After helping numerous friends and acquaintances move over the last few years a buddy of mine finally got for his truck a bumper sticker; " You never know how many friends you have until you own a pickup"

Mon. 8/3/09 12:19pm From: anyone to everyone

very good song choice

Mon. 8/3/09 12:22pm From: Spencer

Yeah this playlist is great so far! Gonna leave this on as I tidy my room. Keep it up, Liz! :)

Mon. 8/3/09 12:22pm From: Liz B.

Ha ha, your poor friend with the pick-up, GP!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:22pm From: Andy

Mon. 8/3/09 12:25pm From: GP

Good one Andy.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:29pm From: Joe Steele

Andy! Buddy! You homebrew?

Mon. 8/3/09 12:38pm From: annie

long ago, as i went from apartment to apartment i followed a tradition of leaving a coffee mug behind each time i moved out of a place...

Mon. 8/3/09 12:38pm From: GP

Bleep Ship, Bleep ship, Bleep ship..say it..SAY IT, 5 times fast.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:40pm From: annie

i slit a sheet, a sheet i slit, upon a slitted sheet i sit!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:42pm From: Cecile

You should play Serpent Mound by Great Plains...

Mon. 8/3/09 12:43pm From: GP

Annie, that always cracks me up, somewhere deep down inside I'm still 12 years old and reading MAD magazine : )

Mon. 8/3/09 12:43pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Hi Liz, congrats on your new apartment!
I am loving this Guinea Worms track. ooh, FMA...

Mon. 8/3/09 12:44pm From: Marshall Stacks

I knew some people working on Guinea Worm eradication. In Nigeria, not Cleveland.

This is not an editorial comment - I like this track.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:46pm From: Marshall Stacks

This one too (Cake Shop Girl). Good morning Liz B.!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:47pm From: Turbo

great show Liz! How about some DEVO

Mon. 8/3/09 12:47pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Me three. I like this Cake Shop Girl song. Yay for Liz B and her crafty DJ ways.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:50pm From: Rory

Finally some Vivian Girls. Hey Liz do you know when these girls are coming out with a new record.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:50pm From: Marshall Stacks

Someone will eventually record Cheese Shop Girl, just wait.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:52pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Oh Marshall, you say the nicest things :-)

Mon. 8/3/09 12:54pm From: Spencer

Yay! Kurt Vile!

Mon. 8/3/09 12:55pm From: anyone to spencer

Mon. 8/3/09 12:56pm From: ?

Has anyone heard Little Claw. I heard they have amazing live shows.

Mon. 8/3/09 12:58pm From: frenchee

hey Bergie, I'm experiencing droputs galore on Real Audio--at first I thought you were playing cursey-curse songs, but it happened when you did the legal...

Mon. 8/3/09 1:01pm From: Cecile

yes, they have been playing them quite a bit of late , ?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:02pm From: frenchee

Citay is very nice to listen to in a tense office

Mon. 8/3/09 1:02pm From: Joe Steele

This by the way, awesome, gonna download it when I get home.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:04pm From: Liz B.

THanks for the heads-up, Frenchee, will restart the Real Audio stream in a few minutes. Anyone else having stream issues?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:07pm From: Ike

No problems on 32k AAC+ or 128k MP3. Frenchee, try AAC+ if you have/can get Foobar, Winamp, or VLC. Best low-bandwidth stream by far. Kills Real.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:08pm From: Joe Steele

MP3 feed is fully operational here. I still find it odd I can barely pick you on the air from Secaucus, stupid cheap radio.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:11pm From: Liz B.

Ok, restarted the Real and Windows Media streams. All ok in real-land now?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:14pm From: frenchee

Hi Ike et. al. Actually I think I was on MP3 128, not Real. Cause Real sux!
So far so good....

Mon. 8/3/09 1:14pm From: Chris

Real Player is working again.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:15pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

I'm listening on the ol'-fashioned radio and everything sounds just fine, esp these Lexie Mtn. Boys. Ooo-eeeee!

Mon. 8/3/09 1:18pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Hi Ike!

Mon. 8/3/09 1:18pm From: Cecile

okay, this must be me, but certain types of trancey chanting give me a really creepy feeling. I feel the same way about Prince Rama...

Mon. 8/3/09 1:21pm From: dylan

that lexie mountain boys track gave me such a headache

Mon. 8/3/09 1:22pm From: Marshall Stacks

The Aug 1 Trans-Pacific Sound Paradise had some excellent non-creepy Tuvan chanting courtesy of in-studio guests Alash. Check it out.

I like Prince Rama. This Lexie Mountain Boys track not so much.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:23pm From: Cecile

I will, Marshall.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:26pm From: north guinea hills

i grooved in spirals around fuzzy drifts of the lexie mountain boys...!

Mon. 8/3/09 1:30pm From: Cecile

Howard Bloom!!! I remember the Lucifer Principle - Spinonline even excerpted it.

Wonder what he's been up to?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:31pm From: Cecile

Bugs Bunny was tunneling to Pismo Beach in one cartoon - not an actual skit.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:32pm From: a guy in a chair in a cube

Pismo Beach was where bugs bunny was always trying to get to for vacation.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:33pm From: Ike

Hi Wendy! Eat any good cheese lately? Say, somebody told me that comte doesn't need to be refrigerated -- do you know if that's true?

And thanks for the reminder about that TSP archive, Marshall. I need to check that out.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:33pm From: Cecile

Exactly. He rarely made it, if I recall correctly

Mon. 8/3/09 1:33pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Yeah, isn't that where Bugs was headed when he landed somewhere else (a bullfight, et al) and realized he must've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:33pm From: a guy in a chair in a cube

he always took a wrong turn in Albagqworqi

Mon. 8/3/09 1:35pm From: doug from dc

Pismo Beach! All the clams we can eat! (from Ali Baba Bunny).

Mon. 8/3/09 1:38pm From: Marshall Stacks

Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, Bake-O's?

Mon. 8/3/09 1:39pm From: Liz B.

Yep, Merle and Buck were Bake-O's! I was a Fres-No.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:40pm From: Sven O

Santogold: sick bassline!

Mon. 8/3/09 1:43pm From: Sven O

Great pic on the homepage. There are so many good ones - I wish higher resolution versions were available. Someone please put in a request to management.

Mon. 8/3/09 1:53pm From: Spencer

Agreed on both counts, Sven. I've often wanted to steal WFMU's homepage images for my desktop background.

Mon. 8/3/09 2:09pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Wowee, this Tortoise is different from the Tortoise albums I have. Time to add to the collection.

Mon. 8/3/09 2:17pm From: Joe Steele

Nels Cline? Say whaaaat!?

Mon. 8/3/09 2:22pm From: Chris

This could almost pass for Kemialliset Yvstavat.

Mon. 8/3/09 2:28pm From: stingy d

Mon. 8/3/09 2:31pm From: chris

Where can you get that 3rd/4th graders thing? It's pretty great.

Mon. 8/3/09 2:33pm From: Liz B.

Hey Chris, try getting in touch with Paul Rubenstein:

Mon. 8/3/09 2:34pm From: Chris

Thanks. Love the "Heavy Drone Rock" track too.

Mon. 8/3/09 2:42pm From: Rachel D.

Swell Maps rmx? Badass!

Mon. 8/3/09 2:50pm From: J©ityJensen

BAD ASS SET TODAY!!!!

Mon. 8/3/09 2:54pm From: Rachel D.

I'm digging the entire show immensely. I DJ on KSPC in California during the school year. Rad to hear some positive community radio vibes from the opposite coast!

Mon. 8/3/09 2:55pm From: Liz B.

Thanks Rachel, shout-out to the West Coast (I DJ'd at KDVS years ago)!

Mon. 8/3/09 2:58pm From: Barney

shouts back to KSPC. I used to sneak down there with dj-friends as a pomona student in the early 90s.

Tue. 8/4/09 9:31am From: Erik

20 minutes into the archive, digging it thoroughly. Let's hear it for new releases! Thanks for what looks like it will be a fantastic trip!
