Listener comments!

  12:05pm
efd:

let's get this comment party started!
  12:06pm
Lizardner Dave:

I have Kurt's show coming our of one media player and yours coming out of another. Interesting. Gonna listen to yours live I think though.
  12:07pm
Amanda:

LD -- I like the way you think. Kurt and I have some big listener-confusing plans in store for the future actually.

Evan -- That's what I'm SAYING!
  12:12pm
listener james from westwood:

good afternoon all! w00t! there's already some artwork on display!
  12:15pm
Drummer Some:

It's pouring cats and dogs here in Pittsburgh (don't step in a poodle). Supposed to rain for the next two months.
  12:16pm
Amanda:

Didn't want you to wait too long to appreciate graphic art, James! (Though I realize I forgot to make an illustration for "Little Tree."

We have the same thing here, Doug -- apropos for the apocalypse? Shall we get to work gathering two of every animal?
  12:20pm
Drummer Some:

If the world cleaves open on Saturday, I'm just so thrilled I'll be back in Brooklyn for it!
  12:23pm
Amanda:

Well well well -- that IS exciting. Had no idea, and have fun back in BK :-)
  12:24pm
listener james from westwood:

If the world's ending on Saturday, why the hell am I racing to meet deadlines?
  12:26pm
Alf from Upstate:

Bruiseology. What a fucking GREAT album title.
  12:28pm
Amanda:

The song "Bruiseology" is so good -- the title track -- I just thought it might be a little too long for our purposes today! NB: pronounced Bruise-ee-ology
  12:34pm
listener james from westwood:

::claps:: You hear that, Kurt? The karaoke gauntlet for the 12-3 PM Wed shift has been thrown DOWN!
  12:35pm
listener james from westwood:

(actually Kurt gets a pass for his awesome KISS makeup a couple of Hoof 'n' Mouths ago)
  12:36pm
Amanda:

Speaking of karaoke, did you guys hear Dan Bodah singing on Monday night to an Air Supply song????? He nailed it.
  12:37pm
efd:

Just when I'd been thinking this was going to be an all-lady-vocalist show!
  12:38pm
efd:

p.s. Math question answer = 666. Here comes the apocalypse alright.
  12:39pm
Amanda:

Heh -- I had to switch gears because I was so excited about being allowed into the new bin.
  12:42pm
Drummer Some:

Amanda, just make sure to splash on the Purell after thumbing the New Bin.
  12:44pm
Amanda:

That was a burn, EFD.
  12:45pm
Drummer Some:

Mark the damn tape already!
  12:46pm
Amanda:

I marked the tape. Settle down!
  1:01pm
Amanda:

Technical gaffe coming up... wait for ittttt...
  1:01pm
Amanda:

Oh ok there it was.
  1:01pm
efd:

I didn't pick up on the burn at all, which may be just as well...?
  1:02pm
Alf from Upstate:

It's like how the ancient Persians would intentionally weave a mistake into their carpets. To appease the Gods. It's like that.
  1:03pm
Amanda:

@efd, I thought he might be implying that the types who go through the New Bin are "unclean." (not REALLY, of course.)

@Alf: Awwwwwwwwww. Thank you!
  1:03pm
efd:

Was that the old "pop open the wrong CD player" trick?
  1:04pm
listener james from westwood:

chicken's on tap for lunch, in fact. (well, not literally on tap. i'll wait until i'm toothless in my 90s for liquichicken)
  1:04pm
Lizardner Dave:

Wow, just tuned back in - really underrated Bob Mould song. Thanks for playing.
  1:07pm
Amanda:

Close, efd -- it was the "start cuing the wrong CD player" trick. I dialed it back to the beginning but luckily no further than that. :-)

LD, I'm so glad I've found another rabid Mouldophile!

I think Liquichicken are playing Death By Audio in a couple of weeks
  1:10pm
Lizardner Dave:

Yeah, I'm a big fan. Pre-ordered his autobiography, should be an interesting book. Seen him live probably around 20 times over the years.

Have to jump back out to go into a meeting but will definitely listen to the archive of the rest of the show!
  1:10pm
Drummer Some:

If someone types the word liquichicken one more time, I'm gonna finger barf.
  1:11pm
Amanda:

Finger Barf are on that bill too!
  1:13pm
listener james from westwood:

Sounds like a hot ticket. Will hit the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell before seeing the show!
  1:14pm
Amanda:

Bye Lizardner Dave... happy to have seen you here.
  1:14pm
Alf from Upstate:

I love their early stuff. Before they sold out.
  1:25pm
glenn:

liquichicken.
  1:31pm
glenn:

they good do a mash up with s.l.f. - liquichicken fingers.
  1:31pm
Amanda:

You are just trying to stir up trouble.
  1:31pm
Drummer Some:

  1:32pm
glenn:

that is correct, amanda.
  1:35pm
Joe D.:

I still remember that awesome shirt that had three guys on it in descending sizes - More than Jake > Jake > Less than Jake
  1:37pm
Amanda:

I had a friend named Jake when I was in high school who was in a ska band. We all had a good time with that when Less Than Jake became famous.
  1:40pm
sprattle:

Why doesn't the wolf just go ahead and devour that tasty sandwich? Does he have celiac disease?
  1:42pm
Bryan:

Wow. Props on the solo Verlaine. They don't get dusted off as often as they deserve.
  1:44pm
Drummer Some:

Hey everybody—don't forget that Amanda will be back on the air with another Nazario Scenario THIS FRIDAY MORNING, 9-noon (ET). She'll be presenting the first-ever fill-in show on Give the Drummer Radio (filling in for Give the Drummer Some). Three more hours of the Scenario this week!
  1:45pm
Amanda:

Bryan, I quite agree. This one was a nice score from the ARChive sale a couple years ago.

sprattle -- the sandwich was made by vegan punk kids, using ceitan instead of turkey.
  1:46pm
glenn:

i think he's waiting for the sammich to be cut up into triangles. he's a picky wolf.
  1:47pm
Amanda:

Super excited for the upcoming fill-in and hope to see you all again then!
  1:48pm
Bryan:

I don't know why they weren't on my radar as a teenager. I've ended up tracking them all down on vinyl -- not very hard to do -- and though the production is sometimes a little more dated than the first two TV albums, there's an abundance of good stuff in there, including reworked early TV songs that never made it to album before the band split. Anyway, thx.
  1:56pm
listener james from westwood:

Amanda, will be catching you on the archive this Fri; have a great and glorious 50%-larger show!
  1:57pm
Amanda:

Thank you so very much ljfw!
  1:59pm
Richard from Venezuela:

I lost the live session :( .

Greetings Amanda.
  2:00pm
Amanda:

Greetings to you Richard, better late than never... awesome of you for checking in.
