Good morning Jason and happy belated birthday!

...having once worked in the pet-care business, performing lite medical on dogs & such, DCE's comment at 9:17 leaves me with quite the mental cartoon...
  9:22am
Parq:

  9:26am

  9:40am
ranjit:

OK, dc, I was thinking of buying that monkey chant cd and your peer pressure convinced me.
  9:42am
dc apt:

totally worth it. I was blown away by the depth/different layers, rhythms, ACH! Words escape me.
  9:42am
BSI:

It's the "Kecak from Bali" one, yeh? [smacks head] ... wish I still had the vinyl. It was better than a truckload of coffee when such was needed.
  9:43am
too much coffee:

morning, peoples
  9:44am
dc apt:

Yeah, that's the one. From '87 I think, it says it's the only one "recorded in its entirety" or something like that on it. Didn't get to read the liner notes yet. Thanks for hepping me Jason!
  9:46am
too much coffee:

@BSI: we'll see about that
  9:46am

  10:32am
dc apt:

not a lot of go go on FMU. Not really complaining, just didn't think of it before.
  10:34am
what day is today?:

is that you Ken?
  10:36am
BSI:

@DCP: Never been a huge fan but I definitely appreciate it as a vital part of DC's vibe. Seems like BUSTIN'LOOSE was booming out of every car window in '79 and '80, and that shop on 7th & U still blasts go-go into the street... That beat made for some fun sampling for more demented music-making, though.
  10:37am
Washroom Attendent:

mornin' Mister Sigal, you back again? Bad Messiken food las' night? Hope you out a good long rekkid on.
  10:38am
BSI:

...and the kids doing awesome go-go drumming on joint-compound buckets on every corner in the early '80s... so I dug the cultural impact more than the music itself, i guess.
  10:46am
Chris from DC:

There's still one *amazing* group of bucket drummers that shows up occasionally near Dupont Circle. Haven't seen them for awhile, though.
  10:48am
dc apt:

yessir, good words there BSI. I don't listen to go-go on purpose but when I hear it, can't help grooving to it. And yeah the bucket drums are a part of our cultural heritage!
  10:49am
dc apt:

I like when they use 2 x 2s instead of drum sticks
  10:49am
dc apt:

o crap, I missed Harry Partch?? Damn you bike racing!!
  10:52am
Tom G:

Hola DJ ..... mornin all
  10:55am
Tom G:

DC ... who will win on Sat??
  10:57am
dc apt:

jeeze, I dunno. Just started paying attention... nice to see Basso take the whole thing again but...
  10:58am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

nice percussion!
  10:59am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

percussion is such a lovely word
  11:05am
fishmonkeystew:

Good morning to all of you fine folk! I hope all are well. Great sounds today, Jason. Thanks!
  11:06am
Lee:

Thanks for the Harry Partch - always brings some relief to a weary brain.
  11:11am
Jennique:

Some heavy stuff to think about for a Thursday morning.
  11:12am
dc apt:

phew! what a race, the break away stayed away for once...now back to tunes.
  11:20am
Tom G:

champs league, DC!
  11:23am
Dominick:

That Yusef number has L & R channels inverted polarity. With this mono program, anyone listing on a mono radio will hear essentially nothing
  11:24am
dc apt:

oh, man looks like I'm just in time for some noh music....I think.
  11:33am
too much coffee:

oh lordy. you mean that I could have spent my childhood listening to this version, instead of the George Thorogood version repeated 1000x?
  11:34am
PKNY:

This cover of "Ohio" is straight fire, thanks for playing!
  11:35am
dc apt:

tmc: check out Muddy Water's version too.
  11:36am
too much coffee:

@dc: noted, thx
  11:49am
News Ticker:

Donna Summer died of cancer this morning.
  11:50am
Caryn:

Just about to mention the Summer thing :(
  11:50am
too much coffee:

umm, when was this Ladino DJ set again? can't miss that
  11:55am
Cheri Pi:

These kids have that kreepy Devil's CLaws vibe about them. Likey.
  11:57am
Cheri Pi:

sorry-thats Demon's Claws-the band not the herb.
  11:57am
dc apt:

ok kids, I'm getting free lunch today so gotta go...thanks Jason!
  11:58am
BSI:

...pleasantly shocked at how much I've dug the new Killing Joke.
