I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Pierre: that procedure takes at least three hands! Thou art super-human!
  12:17pm
DCE:

well, he could be using his teeth to open the bottle, and his toes to type...thus requiring no hands. But I agree, that is still super-human!
  12:18pm
pierre:

@BSI : I must say, it is beer in a can, therefore one hand's typing, while the other's openning. But then i'm using both hands to pour the beverage in a glass, as it must always be done.
  12:18pm
G:

yeah, scott puts the "c" *and* the "t" in eclectic...

really digging this track. I got nervous for a minute that I was listening to Irene's show and this whole week had been a hallucination.

I like how he treated Rhythm Ace like a real person. If Sandy wouldn't have died in 2001, he would have been totally set when the robots take over.

Let's talk about lunch, I just had a delicious Vietnamese vermicelli noodle dish w/ tofu, as well as a vegetarian Banh Mi sandwich. I am so gastronomically pleased tight now. I just wish I could drink beer in my cubicle at this very moment.

5th day in a row of spinach/tortellini soup. I grow weary.

we are getting a new Thai restaurant right down the street from my house soon. also, KFC (where I held my very first employment) is being converted to Chipotle. Not that I'll ever go THERE.

I just had a peanut butter and honey sandwich. I have had two a day off and on for most of my life. I can drink beer in my office, but I think I'll hold off.

Cheri - Sounds great. there's a Vietnamese joint in my town that also offers veggie style Viet dishes including veggie pho on the weekend. The owner also has a ramen shop a few blocks away from where I work. Fresh ramen now comes with all the dishes.

Tonight I'm going to make couscous with sauteed veggies, fried tofu and kim chi. I'm not sure if it will work but sounds good to me now.

@ MK : I hear you, that's some good advice. Fortunately, I have a desk and (sort of) drinking station, where I come and go by rolling on the floor on my desk chair. Which is practical and fun !

And for diner, I'm consedering home made tomato sauce and pastas.

Ughh, I haven't been to the grocer's in nearly 3 weeks (was gone for a week). I don't even have udon (which I crave right now). I have some refried beans, an egg and some suspiciously old tortillas. oh, and some potatoes that have sprouted eyes. I guess I'm going to the store after my appointment in an hour.

Mmm! Pierre :)

Cheri - that is amusing. Those soups wouldn't appeal to my carnivorous wife. She likes her ramen with lots o pork and beef out of a steaming styrofoam cup.

I made a fantastic minestrone last week with the turkey stock I made from thanksgiving. Lots of veggies. Also started it with some pancetta and jamon serrano, though. Frying up some tofu this weekend sounds like a good idea.

Ramen for breakfast sounds so great. I'm going to try that this upcoming week. A number of Chinese restaurants around town have been making their authentic menus available to the general public. I've been totally digging mala dishes - dry spiced dishes with szechwan peppercorns.

We are going to have a new plower this winter. He is a black belt in karate. He is also one of the instructors at my daughter's karate studio. She is testing for her own black belt this weekend. I need to take down the clothesline ropes so he can have a clear path to push the snow. I also need to move our little cargo trailer to the back of the yard. I also need to finish building an outdoor pen for our roosters. They are fine in the garage pen I have for them but I am sure they would like to be outside to get some sun at times. How is that for a non food comment posting and stream of consciousness writing?

The dog's tail wags; what of the cow's?
  2:23pm
green mountain man mark:

I got a guinea hen a couple of weeks ago from a coworker. I was planning on cooking it for a party. I had never experienced a guinea hen before. It turns out they are very fats and wild like. Not like chickens at all. Chickens will usually let you pick them up and be slow. The guinea took off as soon as I opened the cage and it flew off. I tried to chase it but failed to catch it. I called neighbors and let them know to be on the look out for a guinea hen. Nobody has reported back to me about a sighting. Someone may have found it and cooked it. Or a skunk may have attacked it.
  2:25pm
Guinea Hen:

Better than the chopping block and the pot. With a skunk I have a fighting chance :)

One time, early in the morning, say 3am, I happened to be awake and downstairs in our living room. I heard the two roosters in the garage making quite the fuss and clucking as if being plucked alive. I went out there and guess what I saw? A skunk was in there and walking around. I don't think the skunk even knew about the chickens. But the chickens sure knew about the skunk.
  2:31pm
βrian:

One doesn't need to teach a skunk to suck eggs.

I like to get raw milk from local farms. Jersey cow milk is my preference. Sometimes I get goats milk. It is not as easy as it should be to get raw milk. Now the farm I have been getting the milk from has decided not to do it. Yesterday I drove about 12 miles away to get a couple of gallons of raw Jersey cow milk. Whilst there I noticed a little sign on the table you where you pay (the honor system kind of paying where the farmer is not around) that said bulk milk deal 4 gallons for $15. Ask Bob first. Next time I go I will be asking Bob about this bulk milk deal.

Yes. I can go to any grocery store and find/buy raw chickens and many other raw meats but can't get raw milk. The FDA trusts people to be able to understand how to cook raw meat properly but for another reason it thinks that raw milk is way beyond the ability of citizens to handle safely.
