oh-ho kat330 you are an apprentice in the mysterious ways of finnish?
  10:24am
kat330:

Thee Open Sex from Bloomington, eh? Kinsey's legacy and influence still abounds in southern Indiana. True fact: My father was an intern researcher for Dr. Kinsey. Said he went with questionnaires to brothels.
  10:25am
kat330:

@fred: Yes, I have Juha-translate live beside me.

  10:43am
kat330:

Love the label NAME to clarify, Jason. :) Some fun with Holidaze Labels: Dark Entries into Very Friendly Unseen Worlds, with Exiled Planet Mu at Magnetic South, there's a Light in the Attic at the Slovenly Sham Palace. But too much Burger Records requires a trip to the Orgone Toilet with its special Urinal Cake. [I haven't had a drop to drink yet, btw]
  10:46am
Richard from Venezuela:

Venezuelan christmas song remix: Mi Burrito Sabanero (djsabo remix): https://soundcloud.com/djsabo/mi-burrito-sabanero || Amazing.
  10:47am
DCE:

this is the best Christmas music yet!
  10:49am

  10:57am
fred von helsing:

I guess for Swans this is pretty Christmasy ?
  10:59am
kat330:

Enjoying this Swans quite a bit.
  11:03am
Tau Ceti E:

Station ID received. Our lifeforms will be in touch with your lifeforms.
  11:13am
kat330:

@fred v h: We're weighing a re-view of "Rare Exports" today or tomorrow. That's very Christmas-y. :)
  11:16am
fred von helsing:

It's the Christmasest! It's truly bananas suomalaisittain :)
  11:16am
kat330:

Jason Fillennen -- almost Finnish there.

Yes! [There Will Be Blood -- 2010?]
  11:18am
fred von helsing:

If you like art-house sci-fi I recommend Another Earth. It's cheap and thoughtful.
  11:20am
jtkantor:

A little late to the party today but enjoying this morning's proceedings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am
jason:

welcome to the party jtk!

looking fwd to meeting you, Tau Ceti E!
  11:25am
kat330:

@fred: Yep, we saw that. Quite enjoyed Melancholia making a nice double feature. Also recently saw Iron Sky. I was a bit disappointed after a buildup by Mark Kermode, but great for the budget.
  11:26am
Tau Ceti E:

Our Christmas wish is to serve man. Much as you serve God's creatures. Mmmokay?
  11:26am
kat330:

@Tau: I could give you a great brining recipe -- some of us might be too tough.
  11:28am
fred von helsing:

How is Melancholia? Same genre, more intense delivery? I think Another Earth made me an instant existentialist. Iron Sky - wait for the director's cut, when they've sorted out the lumps and bumps.
  11:30am
kat330:

The first 15 minutes or so of "Melancholia" is breathtaking. Sublimely beautiful.
  11:33am
Tau Ceti E:

To paraphrase your ex-President, Bugs Bunny: "What? No gravy?"
  11:37am
kat330:

@Tau: Brining is the first step for some of us, like Madonna, or to soften Philo's Gristle. Gravy's great in the end.
  11:42am
Tau Ceti E:

According to the calculations of our puppet stooge reptile Dick Cheney, rising seas will handle that part of the recipe quite well.
  11:42am
Philo Gristle:

@fed Iron Sky was both better and worse than expected/hoped for. It was nice to see ANY finn-films here in the local rental shack. Just got a dvd for "Age of Iron" tv show.

Melancholia is a good companion piece to Another Earth; but for both you have to be in the right mood for them to hit the sweet spot.
  11:43am
kat330:

Very resourceful, Tau! I applaud the pragmatism.
  11:44am
Philo Gristle:

GrrrrRRRrrrr... guess the R still works, need to look at the screen when typing.
  11:46am
fred von helsing:

I found that a quiet Christmas Eve's Eve worked for Another Earth. Very much so. Fed the soul.
  11:48am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

Jason! So good to see you here!
  11:50am
Tau Ceti E:

I understand from your so-called "headhunter" cultures that everything on Earth with two or more legs tastes like chicken. This means fewer leftovers. Waste not, want not.
  11:52am
Irene:

hey, i will be a little bit late.
  11:53am
kat330:

Hi, Irene!
  11:55am
kat330:

K.L.A.P.S. -- another great label name.
  11:55am
joulupukki:

  11:55am
kat330:

Kippis!
  11:57am
joulupukki:

Poro on paras!
  11:58am
kat330:

Jason, does Blau purposefully add that "b" onto "Plum"?
  12:00pm
fred von helsing:

"Sugar plumb fairy" does sound a bit... fey *cough*
  12:02pm
fred von helsing:

@kat330 will check out Melancholia ASAP
  12:05pm
kat330:

Thanks for the joy, Jason!

OK, fred! Its opener will "fred" the soul! :)

Have a happy and warm holiday everyone!
