Avatar 6:07am
Jay/London:

good morning fred we have SUN !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11am
fred:

@Jay: no such thing here, and it rains. I guess you'll be going out to the heath and enjoy it
Avatar 6:11am
Jay/London:

I think that is one of the oddest names for a track 00/00/2020 thomas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12am
fred:

Thomas, "Listen, Don't Think" is an accurate description of my current state
Avatar 6:14am
Jay/London:

well I got to work on a friends computer if he is not hung over still waiting for them to ring otherwise might go down to camden to to catch a group later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am
fred:

Hmm, not hung over on a Sunday? If you mention it, it doesn't look likely. No show for me today, but I won't complain, I saw five this week. The holidays boredom is officially over
Avatar 6:24am
Jay/London:

sorry fred was cooking a very late breakfast yes if he is hungover i will have the day to my self .. yes glad the holidays are over can get on with life again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29am
fred:

Jay, I'll drink to that (tea, I had enough beer yesterday). The music scene is definitely thawing, we even got the lineup for Sonic Protest in April
Avatar 6:31am
Jay/London:

so all is good .. sonic protest ! .. me on 3rd cup of coffee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am
fred:

If anyone from Paris is lurking, here's the site of the festival: www.sonicprotest.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48am
fred:

And if someone from Paris want tickets to dance shows that happen during the festival, I'll be giving away a couple...

Thomas:

Hi fred and Jay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54am
fred:

Thomas, have you settled on what you'll have as a DJ premium for the marathon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am
fred:

That was a very cool cover (Heard It Through the Grapevine)
Avatar 7:06am
Thomas:

fred- yes! you can anticipate a collection of Dutch D.I.Y. greatness '77 - '85
Avatar 7:07am
Thomas:

and man, i love that Grapevine cover too but that is such a poor recording. couldn't resist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09am
fred:

@Thomas: Dutch DIY? Sounds great! Though I'll try not to anticipate too much: I probably won't get to hear it until August or maybe even September
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12am
fred:

I starred the Grapevine cover anyway, couldn't resist either. And I really like this Rik Rue mayhem
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14am
Fuzzy:

I'm digging this weird shtuff -- it is to laugh! Got any ECC?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am
fred:

Fuzzy, if you like this kind of weirdness you should check out Nat Roe's show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am
Fuzzy:

Oh I do, Fred; he's on my fave show list!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am
fred:

@Fuzzy: did you ever fool around with his supercut-o-matic software?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32am
fred:

In my book, mistakes are good, especially at this hour, they show you're an actual live DJ. It's your show, your fumbles are part of the package
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35am
Fuzzy:

@fred: No! Where do I find that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37am
fred:

Hopefully it's still available here: blog.wfmu.org...
Let me know if it's not, and I can send you the source code for the back end if you're interested
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am
Fuzzy:

@fred: grabbed the new/improved version, and the Linux source code too to play around with. Thanks, man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am
fred:

I'm sure Nat would love it if you make an Android app out of it. It's really simple stuff based on SoX.
I have a slightly different, newer version of it, with a couple of bug fixes and an extra command line option, contact me if you want that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am
fred:

It's called "Linux" source code, but the command line back end is really cross-platform, there's nothing linux-specific in there, it's just that Nat didn't have a way to make a Linux GUI
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52am
Fuzzy:

@fred: Well now, there's a challenge; I have yet to do any android apps -- that would be a fun one to start out with! Is your newer version the same one linked to in the link you sent me? It said that there couldn't be any spaces in the path -- is that still true?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am
fred:

That's a bug in the GUI, the usual escaping crap. The command-line backend doesn't have this limitation.
I thought you were an Android guy based on my, well, fuzzy memories of earlier comments, that's all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58am
fred:

The newer version integrates a bug fix that a guy sent to Nat, and an option to output a text file with the positions of extracts, if memory serves. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (I think I have the very latest code at work)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am
Fuzzy:

Trying to get to there, but it's a long slog -- I've got the SDK, Eclipse etc. I take it you're a developer; not me -- my background is more tech support/admin, but Android development looks like it would be a good field to get into these days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am
fred:

I'm an old-school developer, I do server stuff and my idea of an IDE is vi. Android/iPhone dev looks like the place to be if you want to be able to increase your pledge level
  8:07am
jeroen kuster:

yes yes yes yes you make my day
thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07am
fred:

Thomas, I'm really enjoying this set!
Avatar 8:09am
Thomas:

oh good to hear!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09am
George of Troy:

What fred said! Loving this set as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am
fred:

Hi Jeroen! Thomas's premium will focus on Dutch DIY
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
fred:

And good morning George!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
Fuzzy:

60-cycle hum in left ear...
  8:26am
jeroen kuster:

hi Fred when is it for sale
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30am
fred:

@Jeroen: It's not for sale, it can be your if you pledge during Thomas' show when the marathon comes over (I think that's early March). I don't know the pledge levels either, but listener support is how the station keeps running
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32am
fred:

Thomas, do you have more info about the marathon?
Avatar 8:35am
Thomas:

Yep, early March is right. The premium will be available for pledges of $75 (or at least it has been, as far as i know this won't change this year)
  8:37am
scrom from scrimland:

Get set as always, Thomas
Avatar 8:40am
Thomas:

thanks, scrom - glad it's coming across okay, i feel like my brain's knocked loosed this morning!
Avatar 8:41am
Thomas:

def no pun intended
  8:44am
jeroen kuster:

I donate every year and I look forward to the marathon.
I was in October, a month in the jungle in Colombia and there was no internet.
I was afraid that I had missed
  8:47am
scrom from scrimland:

I understand. I've had a couple of rough days lately myself.
Avatar 8:47am
Thomas:

a month in the jungle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
fred:

@jeroen: that sounds awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am
fred:

@Thomas @8:40: "Dangerous For The Brain" seems to be more that a Sunday morning event for both of us. You handle it much better though
  8:56am
jeroen kuster:

yes it was super
I've seen monkeys
poison frogs hummingbirds.
super large trees
and lots of flowers.
I was as artis in residencer
Avatar 8:56am
Jay/London:

been here all the time thanks Thomas see you all next week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am
fred:

I just love Ike Yard.
Thanks Thomas for another great show
@Jay: there's a hint of that yellow thing in the sky now, time to go out
