G:

I'm gonna be doing laundry while working online. How utterly thrilling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am
Greg from Bloomfield:

I will be spending the show pushing the limits of acceptable pajama wearing time...
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Mike East:

I am green with envy, Greg. I think last Saturday I made it to almost 4pm in my PJ's
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:36am
Mike East:

I was singing "I'll come running over" in the shower the other day.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:39am
G:

There was actually a ramp-up on the laundry. I'm dogsitting for a friend who lives in an apartment building, and I had to figure out how the debit card system works. Even more thrills. I practically have a blog entry, let alone a tweet, at this point. If I did those things...

I haven't owned pajamas for about 25 years. What's wrong with me. Stinking nonconformist. Shorts suffice.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Mike East:

anyone read that article in the NY'er about Dapper Dan? I found it fascinating. Made a great analogy between him making his own fashion creations using name brands (Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc) and hip hop artists sampling music.
  11:43am
Parq:

I put on the pajamas after I get up. Got a 22 year old daughter in the house. And Michael, thanks so much for that brilliant Star Wars Inside Job vid.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:43am
Mike East:

I just count pajamas as the comfortable clothes that I would never wear outside my house. I don't typically even sleep in them...just have them for the time before and after sleeping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
Parq:

Dang, I forgot to sign in. There, that's better.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:45am

that's funny, Parq. I remember my dad coming out to yell at my teenaged sister and her friends to keep it down in his tightie whities. My sister was mortified. I thought it was hilarious.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am

To be fair, half of my "pajamas" is a WFMU "Dead Air" shirt.

Yoshimi & Pink Robots?

SeanG:

Alright
Avatar 11:54am
Phelger Nank:

There was a Japanese 'group sounds' band called Pink Spiders in the 60s, in addition to the current US garage band, so I presume the Flaming Lips were writing a rock opera about 1960s Japanese beat bands
Avatar 11:55am
DeemerDave:

Thanks, Phelger.

I like the lilac/magenta/white livery this morning. Spring-like and reminiscent of Easter eggs,

Ken From Hyde Park:

In high school, we scammed a trip to California and I saw Lefty Frizzell's star on the Hollywood walk of fame. I had never heard of him, but I thought it was a great name and took a picture of it.
  12:42pm

So nice, you played it twice?

  11:45am
Peter:

Mr. Shelley, that Tony Joe White song was included on a 1997 reissue of TJW's first album, but it is unclear on the net just when it was recorded. However (Wiki) the first album was recorded nine months before July 1969, which means fall 1968.

That means the Monkee's/Day Tripper-ish guitar riff was derived, and might be the world's first example of a neo-Monkees (Wrecking Crew) cultural event.
  8:16pm
Josh:

Sorry to just be catching up, MS, but if you want to explain Fountains of Wayne to someone just play them "Fountains of Wayne Hotline."
