Hey, Matt! Anybody read the Rod Stewart bio? During the marathon, Listener Tim told me it was worth a look.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Ah, good initiative, Joe! I see that you, Ike, DCE and Cheri Pi already favorited this during Fabio's show--good of ya to bring it over here!

And Happy Easter everyone!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Never heard of Rod's, is it an autobio?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am
Minnesota Jeff:

I assume the Rod Stewart Bio it reads like a Harlequin Romance novel, but the "Hunk" looks like a wrinkly old Aunt?
Avatar 12:15am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Keeping tabs, I see! Yes, it's Rod'a, apparently. @MJ: I'm sure it has more action than the Pete Townshend bio!
  12:16am
Chop Scott:

I was in an elevator at my job with Rod S. a few years ago---very nice suit, but he was wearing slippers. Collects 19th Cent. paintings. Hunting dogs and horses. ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am
Matt from Springfield:

Slippers. To more easily move from one bed to another...
Avatar 12:17am
Joe McG:

@Chop Scott: Ha ha! Slippers must be for a fast, quiet getaway out ladies' windows!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am

Is the Townshend bio any good, despite lack of sheet-shaking?

The Pete bio is kind of frustrating. He doesn't dwell so much on music as on boating and his various neuroses.

They must have used it since "Dead Milkmen" was already taken.

Joe, I'm curious (since I'm really into your random 45 segments) - did you buy any of these 45s as a teen or were these all bought once you were older?
Avatar 1:56am

@Nick: Most of them when I was older, but I have a few from a long time ago. I was an LP guy until I was in my 20s! Then I went single crazy.

haha Cool! I can completely understand.

@dknight - where are you? Raleigh mkt actually lot of trucked in & conventionally raised produce , products & animals, so one must be VERY wary. Durham & Carrboro both truly local & mostly best practices. Raleigh does have some great vendors, you just need to find them.

  2:22am

Joe - heh. A very delicious wild fern that's hard to find as foragers need to know what they're doing - close relatives ate toxic - actually fiddleheads themselves can make you ill if not prepped correctly. But they're wonderful. A New England treat, esp up north in Maine

It was not what I expected, even though I have the set that came out. Gibbons is the only guitar player and only singer. The other guys don't even sing backup. If it was billed as a billy gibbons solo show I would not have gone. That said, he's an exciting performer and we were right at the stage.
Avatar 2:33am
Joe McG:

@KP: That's cool. In his interview with Joe Belock, he said the other guys have kept playing all along. Were they tight?

  2:34am
Holly in NC:

@KP are you glad you went?
Avatar 2:37am
KP:

They were fine. Very basic. The bass was mostly root notes similar to ZZ top. The organ was good but kind of loud (I hate organ except Manzarek). The drummer was quiet. Some of their songs were kind of epic but it was all Gibbons.

Creasy greens fresh only - they're like watercress (except not) ;-). But you *could* cook & freeze, like any other green. My freezer is too full of chicken bones, shrimp shells, galangal, & chia seeds. And bacon. And lard. Oh, freezer.
