...They don't have to be Solos: Drum solos were forbidden on the Show.

My license plates were stolen once and the state issued two new sets of plates to me. It took three months and 5 letters to convince them I hadn't committed fraud trying to register the same car three times so I could pay all the registration fees three times. They were convinced that's what I was trying to do.

Our local clinic changed their queueing system. It used to be: 2 windows, one you queue at if you already have an appointment or just need advice or a refill on a prescription, the other you take a bakery number for and sit down and wait if you need to schedule an appointment. Now, it's: 2 windows, the "queue without a number for set appointments or minor stuff, take a number and sit to get an appointment" stuff is the same, but now, both windows take both kinds of people. So patients are utterly confused which window would be better to queue at, because the windows randomly call people in from the seats, so you could end up waiting half an hour and get passed by 5 people if you're at the head of a queue at one window, while you might be 6th in the other queue but end up at the window faster. Frigging mess.

I remain kind of amazed that rock music is still so current. Back in the 1970s, I took it for granted that the next generation would come up with something to replace it. Hip hop and dubstep have their adherents, but that hasn't stopped rockers well past age 70 from selling out stadiums.
