Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from May 24, 2013 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Here's the thing, when I'm wrong, I like to be very very wrong. I just found the Playbill, and I was wrong on both counts. That brain cell went south long ago. Not only did I see it with Larry Kert's *understudy*, I saw it with Jane Russell. Thank you for the correction.

So Duane plays Spanky's "I'd Like to Get to Know You" a couple of years ago, and I comment that it reminds me of that number in a particular variety show appearance that I describe, and -- this one few-minute thing from television more than 40 years earlier? -- Duane knows it, says it was the Sullivan show AND he's got it on DVD and it s a favorite. Ain't that somethin'?
