this Kent Gomez LP is very rare! good stuff.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:47am Gary:

@Lewis It's out now? I think I saw a trailer for it, but a while ago, and then I didn't hear anything more about it. Just looked it up and it's playing at Cinema Village right now -- awesomeness!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am Doug Schulkind:

@Lewis
The brothers behind that Detroit band eventually gave up rock and moved to Vermont where they've been playing fairly awful roots-reggae for the snowbirds. I saw them in a club near Ludlow one Thanksgiving weekend about 15 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Doug Schulkind:

@andujar
I first discovered Kent G from that Lost Classics of Salsa set. Led my to the full LP. Title track of "My Ghetto" is monumental.
Avatar 9:50am Lewis:

@Gary - very cool; looks like the closest it is going to get to me is Duluth (?!)

@Doug- in Salon they formed "Lamsbread, a longtime staple of the East Coast summer festival circuit."
  9:53am andujar:

I was digging with my homeboy Bongohead at one of the WFMU fairs. I looked thru just about everything this guy had but figured "why should i look thru the polka LPs?". well then Bongo looked thru them and turned up My Ghetto for like a buck or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Doug Schulkind:

In fact, the track after this Joey Pastrana is from Lost Classics of Salsa, Vol. 1.

@Lewis
Yup. Lambsbread. Their music was really quite awful. These fake rastas playing reggay for a drunk and hooting après ski crowd. We just went in for some beers and were confronted with this bizarre collision of cultures.

Hey Doug & all Drummersomes! Very grateful to hear your wunnerful tunes. The pop-up (my only way in at work) ceased working yesterday morning and there's nothing worse than an FMU auditory vacuum. Luckily, upon turning on my "machine" ths morning, the connectivity gods had smiled on me again...Whewwww! Day by Day!
Avatar 10:08am Lewis:

@Uncle Michael - sounds like you will have lots of time to work through some of that languishing material next week!
Avatar 10:08am northguineahills:

I've been listening at work via my phone, and commenting via their interwebs....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am Doug Schulkind:

Hi and hello,KevinfromBayRidge!

I think a glitch has been discovered with the pop-up player. When a show joins or leaves the stream, and thus the streaming content switches from the detault random-play queue of tracks to a live radio show (or back), it makes the pop-up player fail. If this ever happens, just close it and reopen.

The authorities have been alerted and will be working to correct the imperfection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Doug Schulkind:

@NGH
You rebel you!
Avatar 10:12am Lewis:

WRT the pop-up player: I have found that all I have to do is stop and start again and things settle down...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Doug Schulkind:

I know absolutely nothing about this group, Perception, but I deeply dig this record. Which I found here:

inconstantsol.blogspot.com...
Avatar 10:15am still b/p:

At almost every program transition on the stream, the pop-up goes into a roughly one-second intermittency -- on - off - on -off...
Is that the common failure encountered? Sometimes it's what alerts me to what time it is.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:15am Jeff Golick:

@Lewis: that's been my Perception, too.

FAVING the hell out of this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am Doug Schulkind:

Avatar 10:16am Lewis:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Doug Schulkind:

OK, just found this record was also shared at Mutant Sounds, with this description:

Futura label jazz-rock/Zeuhl Music album,issued in 1971. Led by Jeff Seffer (aka Yochk'o Seffer) on bass-clarinet, soprano & tenor saxes, along with Siegfried Kessler piano, electric piano), Didier Levallet (bass) and Jean-My Truong (drums). Shortly after this Yochk'o Seffer joined Magma (on such classics as Mekanick Kommando & 1001° Centigrades) and then later founded Zao. "Colour splashes, melting magma, he plays like he paints and sculpts: he is the melting pot of the dancing lyricism of his compatriot Bartok, the Coltranian fire and the self proclamations of a Monk with a multi-instrumental virtuoso (from sopranino to bass saxophone) and with an endless passion.

@Viv
One of our cats is really fragile emotionally. When we got a third cat last year (a year after another of our cats died), this dear quivering ball of fur just flipped out. 18 months later, he is still peeing all over the house. I figure a dog is just going to WRECK him. Or maybe he'll surprise us all and become best buds. Oh well.
