Hey Irene, hello one and all, we are at long last having a bit of a summer over here,

Hiya, Irene. Lovely evocative start to an afternoon inside out of the (once again) rain.

Sean in Bristol, UK:

Hi Van, what's the weather like with you, typical of us Brits but there are some gripes about how hot it is here.
Avatar 12:15pm
Van in DC:

Fairly hot in DC, with some humidity. Just walked the mall and am dripping sweat. Yeah, the men looked pretty hot at Wimbledon yesterday...congrats to Murray by the way.

Cool.

Lovely track from Mr Glass, he takes arpeggios to another level.

Irene Trudel:

Hi Everybody! Nice to be here in a cool studio. @Sean, I can answer that too. NYC is wretchedly hot (90'sF) & humid. My poor kitties are suffering the most, but have found cooler spots in front of the fan/AC-- which is only slightly better than the outdoors in my stifling, top floor apartment. How are the rest of you staying cool today?
Avatar 12:21pm
Van in DC:

My near-the-top apartment also is only slightly cooler than outside. Happy to be in the cold AC at work today.

Not that bad if you are not expending energy. Sitting in car to do alt side parking with FMU on was a breeze.

Irene, I have wimped out of coming over late August because of the hideous humidity that all you good Eastern Seaboard folks have to endure each year,
  12:24pm
Sean in Bristol, UK:

AC, that's something that is about as common as rocking horse droppings over here, hot, go stand next to chill compartment at your local supermarket!
  12:25pm
Sean in Bristol, UK:

Becca, lovely.

Going to London in August. Can't wait. Wimbledon got me psyched.

Sean in Bristol, UK:

@KP, try some real ale during your visit
Avatar 12:32pm
KP:

I no longer partake but have been there a few times when i sampled many ales and more and more.

@ Sean, sorry we won't see you then but I completely understand. Summertime NYC is a little hard to take if you're not used to it.

in defense of summer in the NorthEastern U.S. - when its bad, its bad - but it is only bad ~20% of summer - pleasant, cool summer nights are the norm - we breakout sweatshirts in the evenings beginning in mid-august

Sean in Bristol, UK:

Irene, Becca Stevens is playing at The Rockwood Music Hall on the 30th of this month, do you think she might be up for a set at WFMU around that time?
Avatar 12:52pm
KP:

It is not bad today and yesterday was OK despite 94 F temps. It's the humidity as they say. It gets bad at night. i just moved to city and I'm enjoying it. At night the humidity builds so you find bar, theater or apt. hopefully all three.

Wow on that 30 string guitar

I'm with you, @KP. A lot of decent, and some mindless, movies are good heat beaters. @Sean, I know about that gig and hope to go. I'll certainly try for a set for this show.

Hi Irene, did you take the playlist picture? Where is the location?

So we knew of Meg...then the Baird Sisters...so Laura records solo as well? Lovely, this.

@Van, Laura handed me a CD of solo material as she left last week. I'm going to ask her back on to play. @Dave E, I did take that picture when I was in the Catskills this past weekend. It's off Route 28 between Boiceville and Olive. It's in a place called Sundown Forest.

dang, I missed it...where'd she say the pic was from? It does look a bit like some places in my neck of the woods.
