Live performance by Linda Draper

From a father who studied guitar with Segovia to a credible guitarist/singer/songwriter on her own, Linda Draper developed her own timeless style through renaissance fairs and church choirs. Producer Kramer took a liking to her style of songwriting, working with Draper on her first three albums. On her newest, "Edgewise," produced by Matt Keating, her spare songs are embellished with full band arrangements, hinting at influences like Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Nick Drake. Linda Draper dropped by to play some of her new songs solo.

So, AMC, in their new extended Season 4 trailer for The Walking Dead...who is that singing you might ask? Why yes, Sharon Van Etten, Serpents in my Mind. It fit so well.

Van in DC-12:37-don't thnk RuthAnn performed-wasn't it just a phone interview?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Irene Trudel:

@ Van, I think you're right. But Joe must've played some of Ruthann's album. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet myself.
Avatar 12:49pm
Van in DC:

Yes, actually she did not perform live that I know of. It was indeed a recorded phone conversation spliced with playing of tracks from a couple of albums.
Avatar 12:49pm
Joe McG:

Hey, all--Yes, I just previewed the new CD on the show. Ruthann was on the phone, so a performance wouldn't have sounded that great. Maybe we should've tried the Daniel Johnston thing!

And what a terrific interview she was, and what a terrific interviewer Joe is!
