That did sound like the Wurlitzer that was recognizable on Supertramps's albums. A distinct difference from the more common Fender piano sound. So it would have been logical for them to cover The Logical Song.

Common knowledge over here is fragmented.
As far as I know he was more an arranger than a technican, thus letting young Rockers (Zappa, Velvets) do what they want to do in the studio, occasionally showing up in order to introduce his latest party-chicks, so to say.

@listener James: Thanks. As good a choice as any, I suppose. I'd rather they had Christopher Lee read those lines. I have a longtime acquaintance with Mr. Lee, who thought my comment about LOTR was interesting: that shooting the movies in all those picturesque New Zealand locations with such a mixed-nationality cast kinda sucked a certain "Englishness" out of the story. The Hobbit is even more a story inspired by the English woods and English culture than LOTR, so I'm in no rush to be dissapointed by it too.

There's a particular photo of Townshend standing in front of a Chinese Resturant slanting his eyes that represents that for me...even Python in the later 60s...My understanding is 'Me & My Monkey' was an answer to the Brit Press that called Yoko that - & is a hilarious great masturbation song...
