I went to an Angry Samoans reunion show a couple of years ago. It was cute. All lot of people brought their families. There were little kids running around the hall and they knew all the words to the songs! At one point metal mike asked a kid on stage and maybe 3 or 4 jumped up too and they all started singing Angry Samoan songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Stevel:

InBrkly: Please tell me they all sang "They Saved Hitler's Cock."

Stevel: that was in their set but I don't remember now what the kids sang. They didn't hold back for the kids though: G.G. Elvis opened.

Metal New Year, Diane! May 2014 be the hardest, blackest, most brutal year everrrrrrrrr.

Diane - you are seriously killing it today! Happy New Year's everyone!

By the way, you can just leave this Stink Bugs song on repeat today, Diane. It'd be the easiest show you ever did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm

When you were briefly playing this Stinkbugs song at the wrong speed it sounded like mid-period My Bloody Valentine

Hope you folks here in the fun machine had a good one too ! .. oo oo Circle Jerks !!

I worked security at an Adolescents' show ( '81? 10th Street Hall in SF) and they actually apologized for Amoeba being a hit - and then played it under a hail of thrown objects…

Man, I haven't listened to Thin White Rope in ages.

Culturcide does sound original but it would take a seasoned ear to find it. Thanks

I heart Eitzel.
Avatar 1:38pm

we'll turn this into an EITZEL forum (for the moment): in the AMC bio "wish the world away" (title?), it said that JILL SOBULE saved his life (figuratively speaking). when i saw jill at a show, i asked her about this. she: "really? i just taught him to dance." hmmm.

please tell Lisa's she's playing one of my FAV Redd Kross songs!

The idea you spoke of earlier about "What would the culture look like without the Circle Jerks" is a valid consideration. That period of music and its greater effect on culture is monumental.

Did Gilbert Hernandez do the artwork for the anniversary flyer? It has that archie comic quality.

That 30th anniversary poster was done by Jaime Hernandez. Gilbert has done stuff for Frontier, too, like an Adolescents poster. Good eye!
