I cannot imagine what you are thinking Mr. Fields but I'm liking what you are playing. Thank you.

agreed. Great start, Gaylord.

Ditto! And a playlist, unlike the previous dj who apparently can't type.

You're thinking of this time several years ago when you were walking around Nice, France in a light autumn rain, eating some incredible bread, and completely baked out of your mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Gaylord Fields:

@WO Town Wick: How I wish!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm
Gaylord Fields:

@maestroso: I'm reserving all my thinking for programming the show.

Hey Gaylord, what’s up? Also, you and Faye were talking in code on her comments last night. Is it safe?

NICE LOOKING PLAYLIST THERE
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
Faye:

or should I say, it looks nice but it sounds even better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm
Gaylord Fields:

@JakeGould: That's why I started relaying messages to Faye through Conet numbers on Mary Wing's show.

Love the Harvest label. And The Famous Charisma Label.

P-90:

@ DJ Gaylord: So funny that you mention that blog article you wrote about the "seat of your pants" spontaneous method of gathering a little of this and that, and sculpting the set by just starting to play stuff and letting one thing suggest another; I was just reflecting on that piece as I tuned in to hear your show today...one of those little bitty coincidences that have that magical "synchronicity" vibe
Avatar 7:12pm
tomB:

!st glance at a search for: "the paperwork explosion" lyrics, indicates there is no such thing. Is this another cruel joke from Raymond Scott?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Gaylord Fields:

@P-90: I think the creative process is almost as fascinating as the result.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
dale:

just logged on - when i was a wee lad perusing records i would buy things on harvest, brain and island just because of the label. it was always good stuff

Hola!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm

wow - the captain and tennille sounds great in this set. still have the hots for her and that dorothy hammill cut
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
dale:

i can see the solid gold dancers now!
  7:26pm
P-90:

@Gaylord: I'm a student of the creative process too, that 's why the article really stuck with me and I remember it when I hear your show, knowing your approach subtly affects the way I listen. I can imagine meticulously designing a playlist in advance, and also doing it your way. Actually if I had to program a show myself, I'd probably wind up doing it your way, it seems very natural to me, someone else might be uncomfortable not prepping a little more carefully ahead of time as some DJs say they do
  7:28pm
P-90:

and: great show today, BTW
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm
Gaylord Fields:

@P-90: Thanks! I wish I could have a more involved discussion, but I've seem to have hit a short-songs portion of the program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm
dale:

poppys had a few great songs - this, free from the city, that's where i went wrong....

my inner hippie is not worthy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
Gaylord Fields:

@V Priceless: Thanks!

@dale: It's why they didn't miss the equally fine voiced Denny Laine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Gaylord Fields:

Sometimes the lack of planning bites you in the rumpus room. If I had it to do all over again, I'd play Able Tasmans first, then the Magnificent Moodies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm
dale:

gaylord, i have all the denny laine magnificent moodys stuff and it's good for what it is, skiffle-y doo wop. huge difference when justin and john were teamed up with the rest of the lads. days of future passed was only supposed to be a deram recording process test record i believe.
  7:41pm
JakeGould:

Glenn did you get a sonogram? Have a pic of your inner hippie?
Avatar 7:41pm
beavoux:

Justin wrote most of their better known songs and is a much better guitarist.

Bookend!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm

Yes, I played this Jeanette song twice. Why? ¡Porque soy rebelde!
  7:45pm

¡Yo corazon tu, Gaylord!

How bout an ABBA track next?
  7:49pm
P-90:

Always love that electric sitar, wherever it pops up
Avatar 7:50pm
beavoux:

ABBA used one too!
Avatar 7:51pm
beavoux:

The E sitar solo by Denny Dias on Do it again was good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
Gaylord Fields:

@dale: I guess they didn't love their Spanish-speaking audience enough to come up with a whole new mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
dale:

yeah, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
Gaylord Fields:

You have six minutes to discuss how underrated a guitarist Bobby Womack is.
Avatar 7:53pm
glenn:

justin hayward is a GREAT guitarist, as far as i'm concerned.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
dale:

he's performing solo around the area, maybe bethel woods? i don't recall. a really good concert film on netflix too. anything after octave lost me though, and even that was a bit sketchy for me.
Avatar 7:56pm
glenn:

that was when patrick moraz joned up, which is why it sucks.
Avatar 7:57pm
beavoux:

Saw them a year ago and they still do all the old ones like Peak Hour. I did miss Ray Thomas though not to mention Mike Pindar.
  Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
12539:

Thanks, Gaylord!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
dale:

his solo album 'songwriter' has a couple of great tracks, blue jays album has some gorgeous orchestrated stuff. i saw them in 77 or 78 and moraz was with them. yeah, not the same.
Avatar 7:58pm
beavoux:

Patrick Moraz was great on Relayer though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
Santos L Halper:

Very nice Gaylord; thanks!
Avatar 7:59pm
glenn:

huh. the single version of story in your eyes is longer than the album version. how often does that happen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm
Mike East:

no way that was two hours
  7:59pm
P-90:

Womack is underrated, period.
Thanks, DJ Gaylord, you hit yet another home run, have a great seven days
Avatar 7:59pm
beavoux:

Great Show Gaylord! do they call you Gregg?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm
dale:
