Yes! Jenifer Warnes doing a great cover of Cohen.
  3:47pm
Dean:

I tend to confuse Jennifer Warnes with Karla Bonoff. Funny thing about this Cohen album, though, is that when it first came out is heavily recommended in the audiophile journal literature for its recording and engineering quality. Consequently, it's almost impossible for me to listen past the nerdy audiophile silliness.
Avatar 3:50pm
Finbar:

The I'm Your Man compilation, as I recall, is a more inclusive group of artists covering Cohen. I will have to admit I like the R.E.M. version better.

I recognize social media sites like this chat board are designed to be declarative, but that's really limiting how we interact with each other and the technology. Indeed, many listeners often struggle to force-fit narrative and conversational structure into the comments board, witness the widespread use of "@name, blah blah blah...."

Howdy Irwin! Time for Piff and Paff!

I liked the Minisnap shoegazey pile-o-guitars and vocal harmonies.

Gerry Gibbs was great from the beatbox intro all the way to the jazz Theremin. Stunning arrangements by The Awakening Orchestra -- There's no substitute for a Big Band. Shoegazing is no substitute. During the backannounce you said TAO was "interesting but not great". I thought it was both great and interesting. That was a great second set.

Thank you for reiterating that Joe Frank does not lie -- all those stories and people are real. He does sound a lot older!

Oh boy! Drum Special! EFD moderated, good call, you guys get totally out of hand; and bringing in a ringer so listeners get the opinion of a proper Professional musician is also wise. I've got July 23rd on my calendar!

And here's Art's enormous drum solo, which means we're back to where we joined the first time. Thanks for the wonderful radio/stream/show.
