I got this mixed up with "wild is the wind". Insane!

Wondering who all is on KaTe's guest list. Toyah herself said she was elated to get an invite

Good nice afternoon, Irene.

I am hearing rumours that most of "Hounds of Love" will get an airing which is fab as this is my favourite album, "Big Sky' is going to rock!
Avatar 12:19pm
Van in DC:

Yeah, the whole Ninth Wave is a major part of it I hear.

@Van, if you have time give me a ring, it would be nice to catch up

This is something of a Renaissance on WFMU
Avatar 12:30pm
KP:

Off the top of my head i'd say this is the original Relf version of the band.
Avatar 12:33pm
kat330:

There ARE rings of hell, and one of them is named AT&T, sigh.
Back now and actually can begin to listen.
Avatar 12:34pm
KP:

Just ordered the two cd version. FMU should get a kickback, at least when Irene's on.
Avatar 12:36pm
KP:

And I just received Beth Sorrentino's new one! Listening to Irene is expensive.
Avatar 12:43pm
kat330:

@DCE: Yeah, so important it required 45 mins. and 4 different CSR's and STILL no one can take my bill payment (auto system is down). Mind boggling. But now there's lovely music to soothe this savage wildcat. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
Irene Trudel:

Hi Everybody! Making a lazy intro to the playlist comments now. Takes a little while for me to get settled in sometimes! Sorry to make you buy so music music, @KP. Can't help it myself.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

Right I can settle down and listen after a fraught couple of hours completing the invoice for the umpires payments from last weekend's softball tournament, it was my first time as crew chief,
Avatar 12:55pm
kat330:

@SEAN: We have "The Walking Dead: Season 4" on order. I recall you are watching the series, too?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

@Kat, yes, finished Season 3 a few weeks back, some of the dose form the softball will be used to purchase season 4, can't wait!
Avatar 1:00pm
Van in DC:

Ha. Head over Heels lyrics, then I see "Snowblind" ...is Graph Rabbit a Cocteau Twins fan?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm
Irene Trudel:

Quite possibly, Van. I'll have to ask them (trying to get Graph Rabbit in to play live in October).
Avatar 1:07pm
kat330:

@Sean: From your fair isle: We watched a good little film yesterday called "Locke" by Steven Knight and starring Tom Hardy. Amazing how engaging a one-man film can be -- just him alone in his car and driving for 80 mins., with many off-camera phone call performances that are great as well.
Avatar 1:08pm
drewo:

Good morning Irene, the show sounds wonderful from my perch here in sunny AZ. Digging the Moodies deep cut.
Avatar 1:09pm
Van in DC:

So apparently the playing of this piece is timely...1969 To Our Children's Children's Children...?
Avatar 1:12pm
Van in DC:

ha, just that enough time has passed (almost?) for their children's children's children to listen
Avatar 1:13pm
kat330:

Heh, I have a loud wren outside our window in a call-and-response w/ your bed birds, Irene.
Avatar 1:16pm
Van in DC:

So Sean, I see the live KT show on Sept 10 then trying to fly to Geneva the next day to see Marissa Nadler live, then jet back to London in time to catch my flight back to DC. Should be interesting

slugluv1313:

lovely show, Irene!
ahhh that first Renaissance LP . . . i loved (and STILL love!) that song "Island" -- would transport me away when i was a kid/teenager . . . as did "Aladdin Sane" too :)
Graph Rabbit are AMAZING! beautiful song, haunting lyrics and vocals!!!
gotta sign off and get to work but wanted to wish you and listeners a great big HAPPY MONDAY!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

@Kat, I missed "Locke" at the cinema, heard great things about it. At the moment the new releases are awful, "Inbetweeners 2" and "The Expendables 3". @Van, when do you fly in, you will probably need a day to recover from the jet lag. It takes me a week to recover when I fly back from "The Land Of The Free".
Avatar 1:22pm
Van in DC:

@Sean, Monday the 8th for the week.
Avatar 1:28pm
kat330:

@Sean: Locke was a DVD from our lending library here in Knob Knee. The unseen hone callers: I guessed Olivia Colman from her voice (we're currently watching her on "Rev") and there is also Ruth Wilson, whom we recently enjoyed in "Luther." Excellent acting. Would make a fine radio play, too.

Hey Sean - Giants are struggling to hang in there. They are stretching a thin bench very far. Here's to hoping for a race in September.
