My radio is dancing above the surface of the table the way the TV used to do in "Calvin and Hobbes".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm

I know that visual, Parq!

There's a rock show at ______
They've got long hair at Madison Square

In case anyone else never knew what was in that line, it turns out that it's "The Concertgebouw", a mostly classical venue in Amesterdam.

Boy, Macca is a sucker for never ending a tune, isn't he.

@Parq: yeah, he might have really had to scrounge around for a name that fit, and rhymed

I love King Khan. His stuff with Barbeque is legendary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Matt F:

I had the pleasure of seeing BBQ's other band the Ding Dongs (BBQ and Bloodshot Bill) in Canada not long ago. So good. They haven't played in the states yet but watch for 'em if they do. To make matters more confusing, King Khan and Bloodshot Bill also have a band together (Tandoori Knights). All worth your attention. There's something in the water in Montreal, I guess...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Dominick:

Allright then!
Avatar 2:46pm
Mailman Tom:

Enjoyed seeing Doug Sahm twice back in 1973. Got to meet him in downtown Philly after the show. Their music is timeless!
  2:46pm
P-90:

The name "Tandoori Knights" just makes me ridiculously hungry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Matt F:

Incidentally, today is Doug Sahm's birthday. But I already had that song picked out to play today before I found out. True and very very interesting story!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm
drr:

Is it weird that "Visions Of Johanna" reminds me--a lot--of Wilbert Harrison's "Down On The Corner"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
Matt F:

It's weird, but it's correct.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm
Gaylord Fields:

@drr: Containing Wilbert's inspired rewrite of the refrain as "Down on the corner/Out in the street/Hmmm dmmm bada bada bada/Hmmm dmmm bada baa"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
SeanG:

that Charlie Feathers cover of "Dig Myself a Hole" is one of my favorite songs ever--dig myself a HOLE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm
Matt F:

I love how Wilbert, like most other people, only seems to know those selected words of that song, but unlike the rest of us he had the courage to record it that way.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
Brian in UK:

If only they stopped in 1969.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
Gaylord Fields:

Am I a bad man for hoping for Petula to pass away just so I can play several hours straight of her music without scaring people into thinking she may have falsely died?
Avatar 3:12pm
Carmichael:

I have a version of this by ... The Epics? The Attractions? The Action? Its on the Roots of Rock comp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm
Brian in UK:

Gaylord, be true to yourself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Matt F:

Gaylord, you already killed Henny Youngman. When will this madness end?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm

Avatar 3:17pm
Monica:

Gaylord, I had to look up LYMY. FIAO - For I Am Old. Right back at ya. Big howdy to Matt and his Many Minions!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
Parq:

Gaylord, have you considered playing three hours of her music while having at the top of your playlist, in large letters, the words "NOT DEAD"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
Brian in UK:

Monica, missing you.

Have you noticed that the pledgeometer is creeping up at as decent rate of knots?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Parq: Or maybe just play one-artist shows of dead people. Duh!
Avatar 3:23pm
Monica:

hey there, brian.... great to see that slow crawl to victory.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Monica: I hope you didn't look it up on Urban Dictionary, as some of its alternative definitions can be a bit, how do you say...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm
Matt F:

Just looked it up too. Blymy!
Avatar 3:30pm

nothin' wrong with a little afternoon delight! and it's cable not broadcast after all.
