@ranjit - yes! Andy and I thought the same as I put it in cue, same key, same general character. One of those unplanned seamless segues!

Hi Everyone - I'll also miss being here on a weekly basis, but I needed to take a break because I'll be doing a lot of travelling and am going in some new directions in life - however (!) I'll be filling in frequently, so I'm not disappearing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

It's a particularly sad transition this time, Mrs P. But, we'll have many wonderful Archives and the hope of Bethany's speedy return!

Even though the movie in my mind during all these pieces is the Silly Symphony "The Band Concert", I am still a mature person.

I agree Matt. I always felt that Bethany and also Vicki added something very special to the station. I'm sorry about the kinds of programs that replace them now.

This would have been a hit, pity there was no pop music industry back then. I would have liked to try and manage this guy.
Avatar 8:39pm
Bethany Ryker:

@Robert - hmmm, not so much about getting responses. If you know me, I tend just to be curious as I sit here in the studio. I imagine what kind of setting this music reaches, and then I realize that instead of just imagining...these technological advances allow me to ask! :)
Avatar 8:41pm
Rick Heinegeber:

Sounds very similar to the background music in first the Adams Family Movie. Well, parts of it, anyway.

Mrs P:

How lovely to hear Alfred Brendel play Liszt. I don't recall ever hearing him play anything but Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert and Schumann. Bethany knows how to find them!
  8:43pm

Bethany, thank you for the Chopin! Asked for some Chopin a while back and here we go. Appreciated!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
Ike:

@Mrs. P: Vicki always jumps off by choice; she is never pushed from what I understand. Takes a lot of work to do that show. WFMU is always a delightfully mixed bag of crazy, and no sane person likes everything. Something great always comes along to replace what we've lost... if not sooner, then later. Not that I don't mourn the loss of several shows this time around... esp. the one that follows this, Airborne Event!
