Happy coincidence, I was about to put on some mid 90s Memphis rap cassette on for Friday night thought, but I had WFMU on, and Rich has been playing nothing but the hits.

I'm losing my freaking mind; I thought I was listening to fmu live and I'm listening to an archived show from many Thanksgivings ago. Now I know I'm living in the past.; Sorry Rich!
  1:04am
rich:

good morning ms. kitty,
pseu's allowed to dream.
Avatar 1:05am
bobdoesthings:

@CD Toaster - I've had similar experiences where I put on an archived show but forgot and looked at the current show's comments and playlists and been so lost! haha. funny world this technology has made for us..
Avatar 1:11am
CDToaster:

@Bob: Thanks for understanding. The Archived DJ (Diane) asked for listeners to send her food songs via email which I've done. Boy will SHE be confused when she opens her mail.
Avatar 1:13am
bobdoesthings:

@cd hahahaha.. Diane Kamikaze? haha either way , that's funny.
  1:13am
marmalade kitty:

I once commended a DJ on a set and all the while I was listening to my own iplayer collection! duh
Avatar 1:14am
bobdoesthings:

@marmalade - haha that's cool though, that's an easy one to play off and pretend it was sincerity.. this way no one is the wiser

I have a good chance of being a great dj! for myself :)

Yes, it's easy to accidentally put your foot in your mouth these days. Yes, Diane Kamikaze. It's good to hear I'm not the only one. Thanks!
  1:20am

i've always found it harder to remove the foot from my mouth

better your foot than someone elses!
Avatar 1:22am
bobdoesthings:

I find removal of the foot in mouth easier than the placement.. But I'm very un-flexible (is that the right word?) Anyways.. I'm a dead duck floating in the dead sea.. time for me to be a responsible lad and smoke weed and go to bed. goodnight all!
Avatar 1:23am

I have to admit, I'd only heard of Klobucar before, and I believe that's b/c of Kurt Gottschalk.
Avatar 1:50am
CDToaster:

I must agree with you, Rich, removing a foot is much more difficult than inserting it. Look at me, it took me only a second to put it in, and I'm still trying to get it out!
  1:50am
JakeGould:

Watching the video for “Ana Buys Bread.” She really has issues here. Not too sure she should be trusted to buy groceries alone again.
  1:51am
marmalade kitty:

trippy set -not watching, the mind boggles!
Avatar 1:58am

Some of these reminded me of the soundtracks to Krtek.

Krtek the mole, NorthGuineaHills?
Avatar 2:10am
northguineahills:

yes indeedy, JakeGould!

As first American born of Eastern European’s I feel a pull to these films. Then the bleakness… Then the pull…
  2:11am
listener114:

Schonne schoenberg
  2:12am
rich:

ngh,
i should get to some Krtek eventually. i've got several bookmarked.
  2:17am
JakeGould:

“Krtek was first seen in 1956 in Prague, when Miler wanted to create a children's cartoon about how flax is processed.”
  2:19am
JakeGould:

‘As it turns out, I’ve stumbled across the famous series of cartoons about Krtek the Mole that animator Zdenek Miler made over a period spanning 45 years, starting with “How the Mole got his Pants” in 1957. This first cartoon is a little charmer about how flax is spun and how clothing can be made from it.’
Avatar 2:19am
northguineahills:

Yeah, Krtek is fun, surrealistic, but child-friendly.
  2:21am
JakeGould:

In Eastern Europe the whole mentality is, “Yes, children. Gather around. I will tell you about a magical tale. Of how natural resources can be used by your government to provide items your family needs. Like pants.”
  2:22am
JakeGould:

The U.S. gets Mickey Mouse whistling for joy on a steamboat. Or Betty Boop singing on a stage. Children in Eastern Europe learn how together a mole, a lobster, a bird, a hedgehog and a bunch of bugs can make… Pants.
Avatar 2:30am
northguineahills:

Hmmm, I was just listening to De Fabriek earlier today, not the same band....
  2:31am
rich:

jake,
the u.s. also gets a bunch of drunk frollicking woodland creatures shilling for cheap whisky;
www.youtube.com...
  2:36am
JakeGould:

@rich, fair enough. I do respect Krtek’s desire to own and make pants. Seriously. But I am just stunned and charmed that exists. I actually think it’s a bit beautiful.
  2:44am
rich:

i dream of drunken woodland creatures designing their own pants
