Duly un-noted.

@Konin
For some reason, that makes me think of Spike Lee's first film, "Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Doug Schulkind:

Flutes and bongos? Flutes and bongos!
Avatar 9:21am glenn:

isn't head cutting what the old blues and jazz dudes used to call after hours jam sessions?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Doug Schulkind:

@glenn
Just cutting, as in "cutting sessions." These were the late-night affairs in clubs after all the musicians finished their regular gigs. They would gather and play collaboratively. but competitively. If another player on your instrument outplayed you, you had to leave the bandstand.
Avatar 9:26am glenn:

hell, i'd never even make the bandstand.

Hello Doug and desperadoes.

Was it Bette Midler who said 'I'm a librarian really'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am Doug Schulkind:

The theme, βrian, is songs about calling your woman like a pig and urging gentlemen to exhale explosively through a saxophone.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am Doug Schulkind:

@Parq
Please don't mention Rick Santorum here. This is a family show.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:14am listener james from westwood:

@Parq: Santorum's kept by a rotating circle of BDSM folks. He sleeps in a box most Wednesdays like the Gimp in "Pulp Fiction."
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:14am Brian in UK:

Doug, did you say that Plainsong were Canadian? Really.

There was a wonderful Ralph Steadman cartoon if memory serves called 'Penguins on Hearing the Death of Ameila Earhart'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am Doug Schulkind:

@Dean
Owch, that hurts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Guido from Cologne:

- Davie Allen made an album of cover versions from that soundtrack. I mixed this up.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:28am Brian in UK:

This is not Mike Shrieve drumming though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am Doug Schulkind:

@Brian in UK
I find Mapfumo's opposition to Mugabe to be straight in line with his political orientation from the beginning. It's just too fucking awful to comprehend that every rotten, disgusting thing that Rhodesians in power said about Mugabe came pretty much true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Doug Schulkind:

Mike East is a beast! (Way better than Mikes North, South and especially West. He's just a jerk.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Doug Schulkind:

Is this Clarence Carter track what they call Country Funk?
It's a bit Tony Joe White'ish in a way ...

Guido, a lot of southern soul is just funky by nature.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Doug Schulkind:
