@gavalogue I know what you mean. 6music is unlistenable during the UK daytime hours.

sugarwolf:

Sheila, were your ears burning this weekend? I was discussing with a friend how cool it was that there were more women DJs and girl pop/ lady singers being played on the air.
Avatar 6:53am
djsheilab:

@gavalogue @davej Glad you have WFMU to turn to in times of need.

anyone out there speak Rapanui? got some subtitling to do and no Rapanui translator. i wonder if there are any songs in Rapanui?
Avatar 7:01am
djsheilab:

Thanks for making this newbie feel most welcome @sugarwolf! Girl-pop has been under-appreciated for far too long. So I'm most chuffed to do my part in trying to change that.

Adrian in London:

This Brel cover reminds me there was a great hour-long documentary about French pop on BBC4 the other week, presented by Petula Clark. Anyone see it?
Avatar 7:34am
djsheilab:

You English folk are so lucky. Nothing like that on TV in the US.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37am
Adrian in London:

There are some good things on BBC4, it's true. By the way, I was in Paris last week and came across a tiny, insanely messy, record shop called Violetera, chock-ull of French girl-pop 45s. France Gall, Francoise, Dalida, and so on. Prices were a bit on the high side, sadly, but a real treasure trove.

Thanks @a listener! An insanely messy record shop in Paris sounds right up my street @Adrian in London. Shame you can't find the good quality French EPs for a bargain anymore.

I'm glad I got here in time for Chara

Adrian in London:

@djsheilab The chap in the shop looked a bit taken aback when I walked in. He's had it for 30 years. There were no racks or anything, just boxes and clutter. He knew where everything was though.

Schulmadchen Report (school girl report) was a pseudo-documentary soft-porn film series from the early 70ies.
