I got this Les Ambassadeurs in a hair product store on 116th Street in Harlem
  7:21pm
Barry:

I don't know how the hair care products worked out, but the disc was fantastic. I miss searching out odd discs on the shelfs in NYC, though I did pick up a couple of great relatively recent Ethiopian discs at a small market in Chicago last year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
Gary:

Nice, Barry -- what area of Chicago? I haven't been there in a while, but I want to take another trip out there soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
Gary:

I've posted this disc to Bodega Pop, so you can grab the whole thing: bodegapop.blogspot.com...
  7:26pm
Barry:

It was called the Kukulu Market, at 6129 North Broadway, on the opposite side of the street from the Ethiopian Diamond Restaurant. -Sorry for the delay; I was looking up the details. Small store, but nice selection of albums and DVDs.

That's awesome, Barry -- I'm writing down the address for the next time I go there. All of my Ethiopian CDs so far have come from Washington, DC

Hi Gary and friends! Updated avatar to show alien hanging out on my neck - He dearly wants to bust out, but we are going to blast him into oblivion. heh heh heh :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm
Gary:

Holly! May Sayon Camera's healing voice swizzle its way into your alien & surrounds
  7:38pm
Barry:

You're giving me some great suggestions for my Amazon wishlist. -That is, when Amazon has something. Fortunately, Youtube has some great stuff by Sayon Camera, even if the nearest thing to her Amazon could find was an "Align G3-GH Gimbal Model Kit."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Gary:

Oh, I will likely post this to Bodega Pop, Barry!
  7:43pm
Barry:

And for only $1,183.93, too. Quite the steal. I may have to buy several.

Anyone who likes Bembeya Jazz National has superlative taste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm
Gary:

Yeah, these guys are terrific. Just read a passage from Wolfgang Bender's Sweet Mother describing Aboubacar Demba Camera's funeral last night

Cheikh Ndiguel lo is added to my list of things to play/sing around a campfire, even if nowhere else (see also very select Cat Stevens).
No shame & necessary campfire music = John Denver (all), Gorgon Lightfoot (some), and GD's American Beauty

@Tim: It's a hot one, but so far so good ... @Barry, I'm a bit hesitant to post it to BP just b/c it's so new and available in Amazon, which could get me in trouble ... but if you send me your email address ...
