Faye, you will be an important part of my "Beautiful Music" program! I think you can figure out what I'm talking about.

Avatar 9:19pm
sugarwolf:

I know a local record store that sells Whipped Cream and Other Delights for $10 and I get outraged just thinking about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Gaylord Fields:

@sugarwolf: Too bad, because it would work well on a bus.
  9:20pm
JakeGould:

@MONEYBAG$: In Downtown Brooklyn there is this weird—and huge—thrift store in Fulton Street called “Unique Thrift.” I asked about standard audio cassettes. They said they had none. Then I walked around and found TONS of 8-track tapes… No “normal” audio cassettes but TONS of 8-tracks? The world has turned upside down.
Avatar 9:21pm
sugarwolf:

@Gaylord: well, that's what the archives are for!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Listener Robert: By my count, there aren't even 10 pure Easy Listening stations left on broadcast radio. Those remaining are pretty much serving cities with large retiree populations, such as Palm Springs, which has KWXY.
  9:24pm
Ahmad:

I know one guy participating in that CSD madness next weekend. You do you, guy, I guess.
  9:24pm
cheri:

greetings faye, Gaylord, and all! Gaylord, sorry I missed your show tonight.
  9:25pm
JakeGould:

@GaylordFields: Wonder if I can get a low power license and just broadcast to tons of the old folks here in Bay Ridge. Just imagine! I could make money selling ad space to flower shops and diners!

@sugarwolf: When you do get around to the archive of the EZ Listening broadcast, you'll be able to hear those lovely jingles Faye alluded to — which were recorded by that talented vocal group The Single Swingers!

well goodnight faye, Gaylord, and all!

“Poodletown Diapers”?

Cooh John:

Hi all. Just got back from walking the dogs. Looks like I missed my girl Maryn Jones. Archives, here I come. Saw Her drummer Jesse last night. Carry on the with the great music and postings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm
Faye:

s/o to Jesse the drummer he's chill
Avatar 9:34pm
sugarwolf:

@JakeGould: it is a spoonerism of Doodletown Pipers
  9:37pm
JakeGould:

It would have been great if there really was a Doodletown… Can you imagine how sad that would look nowadays?
  9:38pm
Listener Robert:

I figured it'd be mostly old people listening to easy listening, but I thought it'd be a captive market because they don't know how to work other devices, broke all their LPs when they moved, and had only the radio left.
Avatar 9:38pm
sugarwolf:

Forget it JakeGould, it's Doodletown.
  9:40pm
JakeGould:

@sugarwolf: Now THAT would be awesome!
  9:45pm
JakeGould:

Thanks Faye!!! You did 97% and that is good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm
Stevel:

Lovely show. Always great. Take care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: "Lounge" is NOT Easy Listening, and of course there are plenty of Lounge streams (and even a few EZ streams). I'm specifically talking about broadcast radio, where you can count the number of Easy Listening stations on the fingers of both hands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48pm
Gaylord Fields:

@sugarwolf: I'm stealing the Poodletown Diapers name!
Avatar 9:49pm
sugarwolf:

@Gaylord: I stole it from Roger Miller!
Avatar 9:50pm
sugarwolf:

Actually I stole it from the Redundant Variety Hour blog comments sections who I am sure got it from RM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm
Ike:

What's this about Doodletown now? en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I'm laying claim to Pipetown Doodlers!
Avatar 9:55pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@GF: Right. I suppose not even instore Muzak covers it...
  9:55pm
JakeGould:

The imagery for “Poodledtown Diapers” to me is some old person community where there is a strong poodle population and they all—owners and dogs—have the shits… Thus need the diapers…
  9:56pm
Cooh John:

Nice music for transitioning to the plane.
