@ChrisM: You can probably scrape off some letters to make the cake say, “IZ BE APP DAY” and then sell the cake to a dot-com startup.

Ken From Hyde Park:

There needs to be an official-type web page with a calendar of the various WFMU birthdays. It would have a method for setting up reminders for us listeners so we wouldn't miss the chance to send greetings on the appropriate day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm
Liz Berg:

This is an easy trick to play because I don't exist on Facebook. There is no way to verify my birthday on the internet, therefore I am ageless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Not existing on Facebook is a great trick in itself. A couple years ago, Station Manager Ken spoke of the dangers of being on FB. He'd never steer us wrong...would he?
  12:48pm
JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: You know that Seinfeld episode where Kramer suggested putting up pictures of people with names in the lobby so everyone could be friendlier? That’s exactly what that official b-day calendar page sounds like…

El Bien... my family is Argentinean, I never hear too much good sounding stuff from there, will check it ooout
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm
Liz Berg:

I wish we'd get more stuff out of South America... there was a label called Los Emes Del Oso that was releasing super great weird stuff on the Free Music Archive for a while there.
Avatar 1:17pm
Alejandroool:

nice, will check that out too. I'm unaware of too much current stuff. The production values of a lot of popular "rock" music there are pretty uninspired
  1:18pm
Pete L:

and how would you categorize El Bien?
I found some totally weird French(?) avant rock on FMA when I was looking for N African stuff - categorized as AFRICAN/ROCKABILLY

Cheynne's fill-in a couple weeks ago must've made an impression on someone. A caller to Dave Hill's show last night asked if Ephemeral Riffage was on the schedule. Next scheduled fill-in looks to be 12/25 in for Sheila B.
