Nice segue into the Sab. Cool song. Love that album cover. Bill Ward's pants!

Oh, man. Iommi slaying me with that riff.

confession: some guys called me "Iommi" in High School, both for hair and for Sabbath-riffing abilities ...
  12:42am
JakeGould:

Didn’t the band like to set fire to Bill Ward’s pants? Just for fun? And they burned him? Like bad?
  12:42am
Clay:

I read a recent review which mentioned that Sabbath came up with Tull, and that a case could be made that Sabbath was also a prog band, or could have passed for a good one. This actually has quite a different sound than their earlier records. Almost more commercial rock-sounding.

...& Crimson was Metal...
  12:45am
JakeGould:

@Clay: Way. “According to Tony Iommi, he and the band would often set Ward's beard on fire and perform other harmful pranks on him. On one occasion, Ward even received third-degree burns. In an interview with Guitar World, Tony described it as follows: 'Bill and I were in the studio rehearsing one day and out of the blue I asked him, "May I set you on fire, Bill?" And he said, "Well, not now, not now." And then I forgot about it. Later on when the day ended, he said to me, "Well, I'm going home now; you still want to set me on fire or what?" And I said, "Sure." So I took a small can of lighter fluid and sprayed it on him, lit a match, and whoomph. He was wearing these polyester pants so they burned really quickly and he was on the floor screaming and crying. I could not help him because I was so busy laughing. It actually turned out to be quite serious. I felt really bad for him. He was sent to the hospital. Later on, his mother called me on the phone and said, "You barmy bastard, it's about time you grew up. Our Bill is going to have his leg off." But things like that always happened to Bill.'” en.wikipedia.org...

Crimson Glory! Now that was a band. This Dark Star is cool. '81. Wow.
  12:46am
JakeGould:

Sorry for the long comment. But pants on fire! For real!
  12:47am
Clay:

No. Great story. Wow. That's extreme. Somehow Geezer stayed above the fray.
Avatar 12:47am

Fuck's sake ... maybe Iommi deserved that box of shit sent to him at a restaurant table by Sharon Osbourne.
  12:48am
JakeGould:

@Wm.: They are like the “Four Stooges” of metal when you read about stuff like that.
Avatar 12:49am
Wm.:

@Clay yes I love this Dark Star... via iTunes I am filling in all the holes in my British 80s metal collection, and the USA & German thrash stuff is great too, from the same period...all '80-'85.
  12:49am
Clay:

Must run. Sounding good, William. Have a good night all. :>)

I have a cool Roadrunner comp with some of that stuff, William. I also like Cintron. Haha, this Dr. Shrinker is insane.
Avatar 12:54am

Yeah real spitty vocals in Dr. Shrinker; sounds like an inbred Transylvanian count ...
  12:56am

That Shrinker was great! What's this? Aldo Nova? No, Ramleh. Great that Shrinker is from Milwaukee. I liked living there for a few years. Played bass in a biker band.

My mom handed me her copy of The Joy of Sex when I turned 13 "in case I had any questions left". I didn't, and I'd already read all her sex books by then. Her copy of TJoS was from the 70's, with a woman with underarm hair and the man with shaggy hair and a beard in the illustrations.

Fox, definitely. even fuzz (like when it's trimmed like a crew cut to look tidy) gets really irritating on the face pretty fast.

Oh man that book sounds great, I love the Germans when they get fetishy ...though on the topic of bush, my dream is to go to Japan and get a scrub down from two girls with soapy bushes, apprently it's a thing ... ONLY ITEM ON "BUCKET LIST."
