Flute! I remember a man who played flute for the Kenton band. Bear in mind, most big bands didn't employ a full-time flautist. This caused great players like Herbie Mann to abandon the big band world and "go jazz" as we used to say back then. In some ways, the alienation of the flute players may have directly led to the demise of big band itself. Then again, if Mann had been caught up in the big band scene, he might not have gone on to make such game-changing records as Push Push or Stone Flute, though a lot of us older fellows laughed at his shirtless album cover on that Push Push thing. Anyway, Kenton's flautist was very much enamored with Herbie. He even came onstage shirtless at a show in Nippon and Stan fired him straight away. Made him get off the bus right in front of the Budokan. That man was a British fellow. A very young Ian Anderson. Ian eventually met a fellow named Jethro Tull, and the rest is history. Oh, we had some times back then!

The DNC might want to shut Sanders out, but there is just so much they can do. If Sanders consistently wins the popular vote it doesn’t matter about the “super delegates” since it would be too crass to just push Clinton into the nomination that way. I wouldn’t vote for her. Tons of people wouldn’t vote for her. So the DNC would be shooting itself in the foot and hand the election over RNC… I see Sanders winning. Mark it here folks!
