@djsheilab: I highly recommend going on YouTube and watching as many Schoolhouse Rock videos as possible. As a youngster I learned lots of things from those animated educational segments. You might even get lucky and find videos someone uploaded from the VHS tapes released in the 80s that feature Cloris Leachman rapping between Schoolhouse Rock shorts.

I do believe that this Pavement song first appeared on a Schoolhouse Rock tribute CD.

Between 1707 and 1783, US and Scotland were both in the British Empire at the same time.

(United Kingdom of Great Britain at that time, Ireland was still an outright possession of the Crown in the Empire then).
Avatar 12:40am
BadGuyZero:

There was a tribute album to 1960s-to-1970s cartoon theme songs that came out around the same time as that Schoolhouse Rock tribute record.

Generally, musical theater is silly. That was "musical theater" in the same way that a gold-plated flying time-traveling Lamborghini is a "car". In other words, I like!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14am
Caryn:

I'd heard another track from Hamilton, and I thought it was weak rapping and weak Broadway musical material: basically the lowest common denominator combo of both. Did not get all the hoopla at all. This was, however, considerably better. If most of Hamilton is like this, not like the other bit I've heard, then fine, hoopla accepted.

Per Wikipedia (take that as you may), Liberty Island is part of New York (though it is wholly owned by the federal gov't).

Conversely, the 90% of Ellis Island that is landfill belongs to New Jersey. That leaves most of the main building as part of New York.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. My brother and I begged our parents to take us to see it and they wouldn't because it was rated PG. I've never seen it. Probably a good thing in the grand scheme.

Richard Dreyfuss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25am

I love that originally in Jaws, Dreyfus's character had an affair with the sheriff's wife. But Spielberg decided to cut that plot line, because it would've made Dreyfus too unlikeable.
