Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from April 5, 2016 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Still no little radio icon for you either, I see, Polyus. I've thought about contacting Joe McG, but I'm sure he's got much more pressing things to deal with. Maybe in a couple weeks...

Dean:

Ah, of course, Giorno. I'll amend my comment.

"Jean Giorno" makes me want to reread Jean Giono.

Hey guys, you can drop me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do: jmcgasko@gmail.com. Maybe not today, but soon.

No rush, Joe. Like I said, I'm sure you've still got a lot on your plate with the post-marathon business, and this is hardly a high-priority issue. I'll drop you a line in the next couple of days.

I spent a good deal of time trying to track down this Edson Velandia En Vivo album after you played it a couple of weeks ago. Eventually i gave up and figured out how to hijack the track from your archive stream. Now you hit me with another....

Where can a schmuck like me buy a copy of this?
Avatar 4:18pm

I got my copy at Other Music in NYC cklequ

Cooh John:

@GGG: I just found out about TJSA playing yesterday. It is very difficult to find out where and when any derivative of a Ron House band plays. He has virtually no Internet presence. I am lucky because he is local. His Counter Intuit performance 2 weeks ago was promoted only on the venue's website. I missed that performance because it sold out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm
Stepchild:

@clekqu: Not alone there. OM sold it out instantly. However, you might try getting in touch with Ricardo Gallo, one of Velandia's co-conspirators. If you google up his home page, he has a contact form there. He's in NYC area & I think he was the source of OM's copies.

"Song at Once" might be idiomatic, but it misses the significance of "tiro," shot, like a gunshot or a thrown rock. "Matar dos pájaros de un solo tiro" means "Kill two birds with one stone."

Thanks a lot, Stepchild...
